Streamer rewards - so let me understand...

Instead of rewarding players that watched at least X hours of streams the Pink Torchbug , you are forcing players to have multiple streams open, wait hours for streamers to randomly chose someone to give the gifts too and have the luck of being the 1 person in the midle of like 20 000 players to win?

How is this not insanne? we waste hours of our life for nothing? No thank you.

it's a shame i would gladly pay crowns for that torchbug. but never in my life will i face this hell again, last year was enough for me.

it's a horrible system, instead of rewarding all people that watch it, they reward random guys that probably just watched 30mins.
    It's so toxic.
Reminds me of last years, they placed a free dragon pet and wep skin on the shop for the people who "supported the game" instead of actualy gifting it to the players that played the game some months prior to the reward or have used more than x months of eso plus in the past.

I didn't realize the pink torchbug meant so much to some people. I'd like to have it if I can, even if I never use it except maybe to place it in some of my houses, but I can certainly live without it.

The way they designed the giveaway seems to be a way of encouraging people to watch several different streamers. I'm not saying that's why they decided to do it this way, mind you; only ZOS knows that. But my recommendation would be to pick a streamer who has a smaller number of viewers-- assuming they have codes for the torchbug-- so you'll presumably have a better chance at winning.

I'm just grateful that we'll be able to earn one dropped crate each day of the event. Now that I can cheer for! :)

Well its also for 1 crate drop. For all 6 days, since they don't give out more than 1 anymore.

Explain me again why I should watch for more than an hour of some stranger spoiling the game I'm gonna get on the 8th?

ZOS really killing it with the Streamers these days.. lol.

@francesinhalover The MO has been the same for so long for these "limited" giveaways (eg: purple torchbug/purple bantam guar): watch an official streamer to have a chance to win.

Free crowns gems, at the very least, that's the reason.
Usually streamers don't play spoiling content before console gets the release. I remember that when Greymoor PC release happened they were all just scrying/excavating around.

Unless @Alcast or @FENGRUSH are on doing engaging content, ESO *barely* has an average of 1-5k Twitch viewers on a good day. The very next streamer in line usually has < 500 viewers (see pic below for today's example). The only exception is the yearly content releases when interest is peaked and more people watch. Seems to me that ZOS needs to somehow introduce a method to help streamers with more engaging content for their game, or maybe have some requirement on what to include along with their streams if they are part of the stream team. I'm not sure what the fix is, but most streams you just walk into and their character is just dancing while the streamer is afk or doing nothing overly interesting and engaging which is why I would have to guess is why the numbers and concurrent retention are always low. Sure, there is the crowd of "why would I want to watch when I could play" -- I'm that crowd myself, but viewership and interaction with these platforms are also hugely important to a product reach and indirectly affects sales, especially in 2021. The current solution for years now seems to bait players to "watch" with obsolete ouroboros crates or a pet just to artificially inflate viewership numbers for a brief period. The interest in the game should be the first priority, rewards should boost that -- not the other way around imho.

    Gotta catch them all.

Fen doesn't count because he streams several games and isn't dedicated to ESO.
A simple analogy would be, Fen uses a large to catch fish, while others, like deltia etc, use a spear, dagger, or rock...

A lot of popular streamers and youtubers have also abandoned the game because of the many unpopular changes, streamers like dottz now play different mmos and have taken their viewers.

Many streamers that stream ESO are not exclusive to it either, but regardless, when they do it absolutely counts for viewership and engagement which is the point. What you said about a lot of the higher engagement streamers is true as well, and it's something I hope ZoS takes seriously, that is literally money walking out the door in one way or another.

    I don't see the issue.

It's a pet so not a big deal, and it helps ZOS by getting ESO higher up on twitch, and helps streamers as it helps build an audience that might stick around afterwards which helps their channel grow.

They should have made it a standard reward for watching the ESO live or any other streams during the week, but they love their RNg system so much they now apply to streams too

is it still the same useless crate that gives like 6-10 gems max in items, and only has a small chance of giving a mount that most people don't care about?

Is it 1 crate for each day watched or 1 crate for all 6 days? If a person gets a crate on the first day but not on the second, odds are they don't watch the rest of the week tourchbug or not.

New players when they start the game have no free quests or anything to even reward pets outside izak.
    but ignoring the new players.

All my pets SUCK , that reward pet is legit perfect for me. In a ROLEPLAYING GAME , a perfect pet means a LOT to people.

Teasing people with limited time rng content they can't have even with rl money is just uncool.

1 crate each day , so 6 days = 6 crates that reward like 6-10 gems each, but it takes some weeks to even receive the crates.

AFAIK it is still 1 per campaign-- but this time they split the event into 6 individual campaigns.

The streamer page looks like this time is the big exception, i.e. each day is a separate campaign. So it should be possible to get a crate each day.

Maybe we will get the Pink Torchbug Pet in a year from now - in the daily rewards. The Coldharbour Bantam Guar that is in this months rewards reminds me of the Purple Bantam Guar that was the last stream team exclusive. I really want the Pink Torchbug too! I'm a little sad that the likelihood of getting - even if I watch every stream and entered every draw they all do - is really next to nil.

Why does ZOS want us to watch someone else play the game, instead of just playing ESO ourselves?

I'm going to be playing Blackwood. Maybe I'll put a streamer on while I wander off to have dinner or something. I'd like to have a torchbug, but not enough to waste that much of my time.

The streamers will be talking up the Blackwood chapter to increase sales. It's really simple

The streamers also show ads during their sessions and that makes them money.

I watch streamers because I actually like the streamers if you don't enjoy doing that then don't the rewards aren't particularly great.

The streamers I watch have regular raffles to give out things like torch bug codes and straight-up in-game gold.
