Has Anyone Quit Console and Gone PC?

As the title states, and for whatever reason. I wont play it on console because of the current glitch, but have spent the last year wondering if I should do PC anyhow.

Anyone try this? I'm CP700 and it feels like an awful grind back to that point.

Back in September 2017 I quit Xbox and moved to PC with 700 CP, I have never looked back. It's 100% worth the leap, take it.

I tried PC once. Long time ago now and it remains like, 7 hours played? I'm too invested on Console to just start over from scratch.

About 1100 cp on Xbox and more or less moved to PC “full time” about 6 months ago. I’m up to 850 CP on PC (I played PC off and on before so was around 400 when I “switched”). There are performance issues on PC too but it’s still quite a bit better than Xbox. I still might dip back into Xbox after the next gen update…

I forgot to mention no matter what I'm getting a new rig with probably a 3070 on it... new monitor too.

Wanted to know if it was worth the grind back up, I'm reading just might be.

A decent amount of endgame people on xbox na who pushed stuff like godslayer left console for pc. I can't leave because I don't want to grind a bunch of cp and get all my skins and titles again. I just can't bring myself to re-farm everything.

I switched to PC in 2015. Wasn't playing ESO then but Skyrim, Witcher 3, and fallout 4 benefitted greatly both from graphics and FPS not to mention mods. Just started ESO a couple months back and same applies. Graphics are great and I'm steady at 60FPS in all areas. Latency and lag sometimes give me a stutter.

One bad thing, graphics cards are really spendy right now.

Nah, I went the other way. Started on PC, but my fingers are short and stubby, so controller is far better for me on the 'reaching all of my controls' part, worse on the arthritis, though. Also had to do with my PC not being all that great. Way back when, I would build my own PCs, knew the right people, where to get stuff, etc, and could afford to have an amazing rig on the cheap. However, with age comes people moving away, retiring, changing career paths, etc etc. Couldn't keep up with finding new sources for stuff. And, while trying to keep up with finding new sources, meeting new people, and all that, I ended up getting passed by, by the advancing tech, too.

So, I just said screw it, and got a console, never looked back.

Only things I need to know are Amazon info, where my local Wal-Marts and Best Buys are, and where I left my wallet and keys :D

I haven't quit Xbox (I've actually had an extensive Xbox session today) but I bought a PC for PTS a year ago. I haven't really touched PTS but I play maybe 80% on PC Live these days. It's not all about the add-ons - the game itself is just better in some ways on PC, such as FoV, UI and graphical detail.

I don't really grind (or, at least, I don't consider what I do to be laborious). I think my Xbox account is around CP1000 while my PC account is pretty low, maybe CP300. I never looked at it as grinding my way back up to an equivalent level, I just let things happen as they happen. Maybe that's because I still dabble with Xbox now and again. Other than that, I would say moving to PC has been a positive experience, like a step up.

I tried, but I missed all my character-customization stuff, so I gave up on it and stuck with Xbox. The game regularly ends up broken, so cosmetics and house decorations are all I really have left to log in for; if you don't have that problem and don't mind a bit of a grind, I'd easily recommend swapping to PC - the addons alone are worth it.

Quit PS4 2 weeks ago but ordered Blackwood :|
Called it end my long ESO journey but I won't regret , I was happy and I have so much fun on other MMORPG currently .

    No , I won't play ESO on other platform or their studio games , I don't like them , PS4 such a 2nd tier customer .

New dev members , new director , even new boss :D
TBH , what they know about ESO ? :D

I've never play a game the dev love to nerf players that much , the cored issue that they can't balance PVE and PVP .

Don't waste the time , money and effort on those stupid companions ROFL !

I'm not one of the people who's switched, but I am in a couple guilds on PC/NA that help out new players and I can tell you we have a steady stream of people coming from PS4/XBone pretty much all the time. Seems like people with the newer consoles switch over less, but the "old" console players are just tired of the issues. A lot of the folks that come over are disgruntled, and hope for better days on PC.

From there there's usually a hefty portion of them that later realize the problems they had with ESO weren't so much about the console, but the game itself or design choices or whathaveyous. I don't keep stats or anything, but as a guess I reckon less than a third of the people who claim to be switching from console to PC actually stick around long enough to break CP160. A lot of them end up leaving ESO for good, I think. :/

The ones who do stick around, though, pretty much universally seem to consider the move to be an upgrade. Addons in particular can enhance the playing experience a TON -- if you put in the effort to set yourself up with ones that suit your preferences. It's a bit of work, but well worth it imo.

Take the jump, I say! There are very few downsides, and an enormous pile of benefits to playing on PC over consoles. The controller support is pretty great, so you don't even have to learn M&K if you don't want to! C'mon over!

I have a computer that has no issues running eso at higher settings but by the time I got it, I'd played on Xbox for several years. I tried but I literally have years and probably a few $K from treating myself from time to time(it adds up). Add ons just aren't worth losing several $k and years of gameplay. Especially considering series x graphics, while can be beat with pc, are still nothing to sneeze at.

I thought about it with the current surprise event, figuring I could level up quickly.

I realized it would cost me quite a bit to get the base game and the upcoming chapter and gave up that idea.

As noted above, I have too much in on the PS4, though I am seriously considering quitting at some point, even though I finally gave in an pre-ordered Blackwood.

They really need to care about the game they provide more and fix many QoL issues.

Well, you pay the price whether prebuilt or not.

When you buy prebuilt that isn't customizable from places like NZXT, you're almost ALWAYS going to get a unit with a crappy component, which is how they save on cost. My last prebuilt from Hewlett Packard was a nightmare spanning a month. I finally built my own cobbled together PC.

Good Mobo, high speed RAM, an SSD boot drive, and a Ryzen CPU that'll see me through for a while before I can afford the 5k series. Only problem is the Mini ITX 1660Ti I salvaged from the HP prebuilt. I'm just like others whereas I'm stuck with it because of the shortages and pricing.

I know the current problems on console are really annoying but PC often has it just as bad. The Markath release for PC was a complete **** show.

Most patches hit PC two weeks before console so they tend to get the worst of it.

I quit playing around mid 2018, or so when the BG group finder broke on console. It was my main activity at that time, I recently acquired a PC capable of running ESO and made the switch in January.

I'm glad I did. You can't compare console performance to PC.

I have both, I play on Xbox Series X and PC. I am wanting to decide myself which one I'm going to stick with, has doing both is wasting my time, time that could be spent on one of the accounts getting stuff I do need.

I've been playing more on Xbox then PC, due to the performance in loading on the Series X. Plus its a series x, the cost. I didn't buy it just for it to sit there. I'm excited to see were Enhanced takes it, but the PC for me is still going to be a winner, reshade helps making the game look like next gen anyway.

Addons help massively in everyway possible.. I'm always struggling with finding people on Xbox for world bosses or any other type of group content, such as trials. I'm CP 790 on Xbox and run 1 trail, just because no one seems to be around to do them. On PC, I'm CP 577.

Soon as I log on the PC people are all over the place, wanting trials and doing world bosses. I cant see Xbox (Enhanced) June 8th changing any of that.

Also to add, Xbox Blackwood is £30.. I bought it on PC for £14.

Play console since release. I've dabbed Into the pc world with ESO. PC is superior and always will be. In cp1500 on xbox and cp700 on pc. I haven't played pc recently mainly because I pretty much devote my playtime to guild activities on xbox which leads to my opinion on switching. Forget about rebuilding an account because I don't really think you would be questioning transition if that was such a big issue. Do you have Guilds, friends or anything like that you're going to miss on console? If not make the jump. It is better on PC but dont expect a flawless game because almost all issues are the same.

I've played ESO for almost 5 years... started on Xbox around August of 2016.

I had quite a few achievements - max CP (810 - although about 1100 in total) - 13 million in gold - Grand Master Crafter...

About a year ago, I decided to switch to PC and it was the best decision I ever made. I kind of felt stale on console and would go for long periods of not playing. In the past year on PC I have managed to get my CP back up (currently 1178), more gold than I had before, and my Grand Master Crafter title again... although I have played a lot over this past year - every day, I'm pretty much addicted.

It was difficult at first going all the way back to nothing, but the move to PC pretty much made me love the game all over again. Plus you're not going back to being a complete noob, you have a bunch of knowledge on your side.

Crossplay would solve this but question is how hard would that impact performance and there is again that PC advantage addons etc...

To be honest i would rather have Crossplay and wouldn't mind advantage of PC addons...

I was on PC back in 2015. Took a two year break went on PS4. Spent a couple years there. Got all hardmodes, CP 1450, most stuff.

Two months ago moved back to PC. Already 1250 cp, two hardmodes left to get. Best decision ever made.

These days I just use the pc for work (notebook), so I don't have a pc at home anymore. with all the internet connected home devices it simply doesn't make sense for me to have a gaming mashine at home.

Played years on PS4, with all the problems and switched to PS5 now and here I already notice an significant performance increase. I'm really looking forward to console enhanced.

However, I know a few people who switched from console to PC and they are happy with it. Imho, at the end it's a thing of personal preference.

I wouldn't want to swap platforms unless they add some sort of account transfer system because I wouldn't want to lose all the costumes, mounts, motifs etc. I've collected over the years. Getting CP back seems relatively straight-forward compared to that, especially when so many things have been offered once or twice and then removed indefinitely.

I didn't exactly choose to play on PC, back when I got the game the console release was at best something they might one day remember they were going to do, but I think I'd have to be very sure whichever platform I moved to would be a major improvement for it to seem worthwhile to start over.

I was on and off PS4 EU for 5 years before making the switch recently (had made it above the old 810 cap). I can’t dedicate the time I used to to grinding back up so am taking it at my own pace and, as has been said by others, this has reignited my love for the game.

Though you do lose the mounts, achievements and cosmetics, life on PC (NA) is well worth the switch. Add ons such as cmx and srendarr have already improved my gameplay no end and add ons like PA and lazy writ crafter take away a significant portion of the grind and daily admin of crafting.

TL;DR do it and don’t look back
