As the title states, and for whatever reason. I wont play it on console because of the current glitch, but have spent the last year wondering if I should do PC anyhow.

Anyone try this? I'm CP700 and it feels like an awful grind back to that point.

I left PS4 in Nov when my unit died. I switched to Stadia in Dec. I'm now ~640CP and I have minimal lag, even during Prime Time.

I had 1700+ cp on Xbox when I quit about 18 months ago. I swapped to pc gaming in general and about a year ago started up eso on pc and already have 1100cp and basically all my titles/gear again outside some pvp ranks without ever feeling like I had to grind to do it. PC is infinitely nicer than console from a performance and honestly community standpoint imo. Especially if you’re going to have a nice rig.

This is why I have started to use Google Stadia - ESO on Stadia uses the PC EU or NA servers so my payed for DLC also works

One bad thing, graphics cards are really spendy right now.

I'm buying a whole box, they aren't that bad in there lol.

Well, you pay the price whether prebuilt or not.

Not quite. Pre-builts buy directly from NVIDIA/AMD so they don't have the insane markups you find in retail/scalpers these days.

Of course you will still pay for all those extra components that you may or may not need, so it's up to your individual situation.

If you need a new computer though, pre-builts are really the only affordable option right now. Sad!

Not necessarily. If you insist on an expensive popular Intel CPU when a slightly less powerful AMD CPU would probably suit your needs just fine, yeah, but if you can forego the bragging rights and just get components that suit your needs and wait for when there's a holiday and grab a good GPU when they are all on sale, you can still easily beat pre-built prices.
PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

I can not find a current, last gen or even 1000 series GPU right now near me. The only available GPU at the parts store near me is a GT 710, lol. I don't think people would want that and it has nothing to do with bragging rights. These are not going to go on sale for a good long time. Why would they when people are paying thousands above MSRP?

CPU are better. I can get a 5000 series Ryzen pretty easily now at no more than a little over MSRP.

Right now I have a R5 5600x which I got back in November, and an old 1060 6GB that I got nearly 5 years ago now. I have actually tuned it back to stock clocks from a modest overclock because I can't even find a replacement for it if it fails! Not a 3000 or 2000 series, just a replacement! Anything!

    Played a lot on PS4-EU.

I've restarted on PC-EU in early 2019, it was a good choice.

Support is bad, not as bad as console's, but you know... PC-EU it's down in primetime again... "extended maintenance"

PS: PvP performance it's a mess as on every platform

In my case I've got an old i7 quad core that could use a modern upgrade, just it's 8 core version really, but the real reason I'm going whole new pre-built is that I can't tell if it's my GPU that recently failed, the power supply that fed it, the motherboard, or what... so fudge it I'm gonna refresh it all with a decent MSI prebuilt that'll last for five years untouched. My targeted machine is just under 2k with a 3070 in it.

I don't know if I'll be able to get into ESO from the ground up, but considering I hated most of my xbox toons and am still here on the forum after that stupid inventory glitch on console I think I'll be giving it a go when the air mover arrives.

If I can't get back into ESO I know I'll enjoy trying FF14.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. Maybe someday when xboxes go on sale i'll try it again.

I've played on Playstation since launch week, got to 1450 CP,and have just started on PC from scratch. Given how much difficulty I have in getting used to KB & M I doubt I'll do even easy vet dungeons (Combat Metrics puts me off), or at least for a long, long time. (And yes, I know I could use a controller instead.) But I'm happy to have something to do again, in the game, other than logging in to just do dailies in the hope of getting motif pages and recipes.
Sure, I spent a lot of money on console, eg Stone Eagle Aerie most recently, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on those things because PTS. If anything, I miss my Psijic Senche.

A few years back I decided it would be worth investing in the PC version (buying the game again and all the dlc), since the console had less customization, no mods, slower to get updates, pc is WAY better graphically, and so on.

While I don't regret my decision, it was very expensive and I do not think the average player has that kind of money, so I wish they would implement server account transfers.

Yes, I switched from Xbox to PC just alittle over a year ago. It was disappointing to regrind everything but I barely noticed as o made new friends, experienced the game in better visuals and more fluid movements. It’s worth it in my opinion but ultimately
It’s up to you if you want to reinvest the time.

BUT console beats PC in ease of communication. I don’t care what any Pc player says having open voice communication is a plus and I miss it. Especially in cyrodil where I could communicate with anyone around me without having to hide or stop moving. Now I have to hide and hope I don’t get killed and type quickly as I see my group getting ambushed and no one else notices. Or minimize my game as I type in random discord groups names.

Personally Im hoping enhanced brings me back to Xbox full time. Pc is amazing, but i feel having to worry about updating mods and reshading is to much trouble. When i can turn on my series x and im in no messing.

I have thought about this a lot over the years since at one time I was maintaining a laptop that could at least push medium settings but I've never had a high end PC. I don't really care about playing on ultra settings but I do imagine that there are more people on PC (Xbox has gotten better in DLC zones but it still feels empty sometimes). At one time I got into housing and I think that must be 100x easier on PC.

I don't have a lot of time to play anymore so it's not worth the grind for me. After they offered the console character copy in (2015?) I did play a little PC after that but it just doesn't make sense for me personally to do all that grinding. Maybe if you had a guild that would run content with you on PC then that would be a reason to switch. I do like the gameplay with an Xbox controller more than mouse and keyboard but you can use an Xbox controller on PC.

I think the real fun would be if ZOS ever offered character copy service again. There were a lot of issues with achievements not porting over so I don't think they would do it again but it would be interesting if they could figure that out.

I spent a lot of time on Xbox. I got to like 360ish CP. Then moved on to other games. I finally got a PC and ESO was one of the first games I bought and I don't regret it. ESO feels much better on PC. The add-ons are great. Mouse and keyboard feel much better.

Yes I was 810 CP on console but am now 600 CP on PC but I miss all the stuff I had and all my characters.. I returned one day for fun on console to compare it to PC and was chocked how bad the game performed :/ seriously shameful.. I regret giving zos so much money and time for a broken product.

I'd love to since my PC is top notch and can run everything on Max settings but I've got thousands of hours into my PS4 account and hundreds of dollars in crown store purchases for my Hundings Palace so there is no way I'm starting all over again.

with this 2x XP event, my friend grinded to 750CP in a very short amount of time in nBRP. Def worth the switch from Console to PC IMO. Came from console back in the good old vet rank days, xD.

Other way around at this point. AMD have Intel on the run (and I speak as a retired former Intel employee)

ESO only uses 4 threads. It also does not seem to make much use of any modern instruction accelerations. In fact I suspect the bit doing that is the graphics driver not the game 8).

Ive considered quitting xbox for pc alot over the past 4 years, but since i sit on a computer all day for work the idea of then spending hours on pc for eso isnt that attractive.

Also, the idea of regrinding cp, gear, crafting research (uuuugh), titles and skins is anxiety inducing.

If they had account transfer i would have transferred in a flash and so would have most people i know in my guilds.

This. I'm not losing years of experience, motifs, collectables, houses, furniture, mounts, not to mention the money I've spent on crowns over the years. I have a computer that can run it easily, I also have a series x. Add ons are not that important when you're used to not depending on them and graphics are good enough.

There’s no voice chat on PC… which is why many guilds use (and often require) Discord. I miss voice chat in Cyrodiil too. Discord sucks in comparison to how it works on console.

@shimm I have always hated that on PC. I used a mix of platforms over the years on PC and I’ve never found one that’s as simple or reliable as the Xbox party chat functionality. I assume PS has something similar.

I'm with @Avalon above. I used to work in the I/T industry and lived in Las Vegas. I knew a lot of people and had access to discounted parts. Trade shows were right there, no traveling required. If I wanted something from an LA computer show it was a short 4-hour drive. But now I live in Utah and had to retire from building PCs because of arthritis. The laptop I have today is a pitiful excuse for the PCs I used to build. I didn't buy it for gaming; that's what my Xbox is for. I highly doubt the laptop can do the game justice. I'd love to have the add-ons but unless I find myself able to afford a gaming PC sometime soon I doubt I'll be switching.

Well my rig is here, and I bought everything, a collectors edition prepurchase got it back with ESO plus. Night one, one hour in, level 14.

The game is amazing. The FPS stayed at like 155 or more the whole time, everything was better, in every way I measure.

It's 8 am and I'm ready to ruin my familys sunday by jumping back in.

Well, congrats / my condolences! Welcome to ESO... again!

Definitely worth searching through some of the "what are your must-have addons?" threads floating around. Addons can really help clean up and improve the ESO experience if you find ones that suit you. Good luck!
