Wondering if any mag dps on the PTS has been testing the changes to necrotic orb and its morphs and what the effect on dps has been.
Do you think we will still use it as part of the meta for dps (healers will probably still use the healing morph for resources)? Do you think we will switch to a different AOE spell, or perhaps a DOT like degeneration? Curious as to your thoughts...

✭✭The devs have neutered it down to be like any other DOT on single target. For dummy humping it's now too expensive now. However, on mobs it's still pretty darn good. The upside on using it on single targets in group are the synergies.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭One reason I like it is due to it moving, so you can kite enemies with it in some cases. But with it being brought back in line, damage wise, I may go back to Liquid Lightning on my sorc. It's static, but it is also a bit more controllable, which can sometimes be a problem with the Orbs if you cast them in the wrong direction and they aggro something you didn't want to aggro.3 -

For single target damage, I believe Orb falls just behind Lightning Flood now. Unfortunately this doesn’t justify slotting Flood, because it is still just as weak as before. I’m getting the best results using neither of those skills on Sorc, just slotting them when a lot of cleave or AoE is needed. Back bar is typically Unstable Wall, Barbed Trap, Boundless, and pets.1
