The issue is that it really has no place outside of PVP content. And in PVP content is quite weak again.
It was undertuned for PVE even before the nerf, and now it's an active hinderance.

It's a very strong set for vMA / vVH no death runs or first clears.
Running just this on a stam sorc with hurricane you're looking at 25k+ resists.

There is a lot of PvE content where DD take a lot of damage which you don't block cast through where this might be helpful. Basically take any situation where someone might run iceheart and they could run this instead.

Personally I think that GoS, although stat-dense is no competition to mythic sets that offer unique gameplay - changing effects. Pale Order for example that pretty much gives you tons of healing as long as you deal damage (but no one can heal you), or Malacath that boosts your dmg, but lowers your crit dmg.

The idea behind Gaze was good. You can not block damage, but instead you get more passive damage mitigation. But 5% ? It is kinda weak.

Sure, if you run a build that does not block much, you get that 5% damage mitigation and a health boost... but the real question is - would you want to use it instead of other mythic (with possibility to use monster set too) ?

I possibly can not think of any build in which GoS would be BiS and would fit better than other mythic.

I was using pale order on my stamsorc, but as I like to play with friends and do BG's I will have to drop it.

I have tested GOS a fair bit on the PTS. The new iteration is a lot more balanced. I think the resistances could be a little higher, but it's still good. I would say on any 2h/bow build or destro/resto build this is still a contender. Especially for a class that has an escape mechanic like sorc or NB.

I tried comparing GoS vs the ring of fete, and the ring of fete came out on top by a fair margin(pvp pov). If GoS had like 5-6k resists instead of 4k it would be harder to choose between them, but as it stands on current pts, the ring will win easily. (because I can also use a monster set with it)

Love the attempt to balance. Slightly heavy handed on the armor nerf. Should be around the 5500 mark I think.

They give an item unconditional 1k HP regen and people go like "that's a dead weight".

It says loud about how bad HP regen treatment was.

No, it is not. Nothing compares to pale order ring in solo.

Lmao yeah. Before the changes to health regen in PvP the set would have been busted even in its current iteration. Now? Nobody even looks at HP regen anymore.
