I disagree. Dungeons were designed as 4 player content. However, content like maelstrom arena is designed to be soloed.
I wasn't surprised that they'll be mostly for RP, at least in this iteration...

I was. They explicitly stated that we'd be able to do some dungeons solo with them but apparently they can't even handle the easiest dungeon in the game. Someone created a whole writeup abour them struggling in fungal grotto...
FG is so easily done that the developers actually put in-game dialogue about how much of a joke that place is during the Undaunted festival. I wasn't expecting to be able to like VSCP HM or anything but I was expecting the really basic functionality that they marketed, which was that it would expand the dungeons at least some of us were able to solo.
Now they can't actually handle even the most basic mechs nor even step on a pressure plate. And on top of that they changed the way a skill work just to take away a dungeon we could solo. And yes, I'm aware that's not the only reason or even most pressing.
It's just quite lame to me that the patch that was theoretically supposed to increase what we could do alone actually decreased it. Nerfs to champion points, rework of a skill so it can't be used to bypass such a pointless mech, and no real benefit to companions for anyone. Great.

If you are dead set on soloing, you can still use Sorc's streak to leave them map, run around on the outside, and enter back in at Drodda's Dreadlord. It's fun to do it once, but generally not worth the effort.

20k people watched this video and i was rubbish with tags and self promotion, so they were looking for it. Instead of removing the pressure plates from the instance, ZOS instead 'fixes' it multiple times so it can't be soloed efficiently.
(ps not a plug for my channel it is deader then dead!)
