Gaze Of Sithis for Vamp tank viability?

CupcakePaparazzi
I can't currently use the PTS but I have a theory! Clearly not for vet trials and such but could a vamp tank ve more viable with this mythic? (Instead of blocking, mist form?)

Anyone a theory crafter?

Yes, it would be stronger. But you'd lose a monster set. Furthermore.. do you really need the resistances from Sithis? Wouldn't you overcap? Also, for non-Vet Trials you can already run Vamp Tank and be pretty decent.

I agree about the monster set! Trying to see if the replaceable CP (no blocking looks to free up a good amount lol) might be slotable in a way that makes up for some of that? Or perhaps the proper set(s) or arena weapons?

It's nice to THINK there could be a new way to tank but I can't figure it out without access to PTS. haha 😞

Yeah, I don't think it would really be useful. If you can already get to the resistance cap without it, adding it isn't going to add any more damage mitigation.

Wouldn't this be more so for the fact that Mist Form provides 75% reduced damage while your block mit is 0 effectively making Mist Form stronger?

I see where you are going with this though and it is an interesting concept.

Necro Vamp Tank with the necro armor skill that draws ranged attackers into you maybe? So you pop mist form after buffs and taunts, then wait for a while in mist form and pop out to taunt or handle mechanics when you need to?

Too slow of a chain skill so you would need Silver Leash as well (especially with high DPS in group) but you could use Mist to "block" high damaging mechanics while getting the benefit of Sithis.

Hrm... Nightblade Vamp Tank with drain skills, silver leash, and the warp blade skill as a gap closer/pull? (forgot what it's called, blade blossom or something? Lol)

Edit: Oh and that 5 set that aoe taughts on charges and pounces and all that? (Iirc the NB skill procs off of it too?

Could use Lotus Fan with Tormentor, but then you are losing a support set by doing so. Guess it depends on how you are going about your build/theme.

Lotus fan runs on magicka right? So frost staff tanking with wall of frost, lotus fan, and silver leash? (Since you can slot attributes in all magicka and stam and still have 50kish hp with sithis?)

Maybe the clone skill in assassin to have a clone to warp back to if the healer or dps pull agro for a quick aoe taunt? (Because it's a teleport)

Not sure what second 5 set to use with all of that though. Lol

Yes Lotus Fan costs magicka. Plus your sustain may be an issue especially outside Vampire Stage 1. Jumping back to your Shade shouldn't proc Tormentor since that isn't classified as a "leap/pull."

Doesn't tormentor also work on teleport skills?

You could certainly make it work.

The added resistances would let you get by using Light or Medium armor (20% AoE mitigation with Major Evasion) and then not having to slot any of the Armor or Blocking CP stars.

Make it on an Altmer (5% Channeled Ability mitigation) Necromancer (10% Spirit Guardian, 3% Necrotic Potency) and use Juggernaut CP star (10% mitigation while CC immune) and Totem or Turn Evil (5% Minor Protection). You cold also slot Meditate (10% Major Protection) for emergency sustain.

If you wanted to be purely selfish, you could also use Light of Cyrodiil (15% mitigation while Channeling abilities) and Ironblood (30% mitigation on proc) or Bani's (100% uptime on Major Maim) for absurd mitigation.

Not much in the way of group utility but if you wanted to be a vampire tank in Light or Medium armor, Sithis would be a fantastic tool. You could also trade out some redundant mitigation for group support. Even something modest like using Colossus with the new Major Force set would be very helpful to your group.

I'm not sure if it's changed but Nefas tested all of the abilities relevant to Tormentor in a video several months ago and the only abilities that proc'd it were Templar Explosive Charge and Werewolf Pounce. Lotus Fan does did not proc it because its damage type is DoT and Tormentor requires Direct Damage. So you taunt only the original target of the attack. It would work for taunting a single boss but it would not work as an AoE taunt.

    Drat, I think you're right. :(

Was really excited for a viable fun/different way to tank... hrm.
