Is was about what botting does to the ESO economy...

You can get a cheaper product but you have to accept you are sending local businesses broke? Supporting another country that may not have the same values or working standards. (Cheaper labour) you kind of answered your own question.

That’s why it is a moral choice to you there is nothing wrong with it, to me there is...

It’s was related to say what Kmart and shops like that have to done to local business. What bots have done to the ESO economy selling Things for cheaper, now people putting in the effort to farm materials are going broke.

    Just in my opinion.

If the product is cheaper and the quality is the same, shouldn't the local business reflect on their product or pricing instead? This is different from botting as botting is a bannable offence, imaging saying international trade is immoral and a crime as well. I understand and appreciate about supporting local businesses, but why is it immoral to buy from other countries just by judging from the fact that it is from a different country?

So in your point of view, most people in the world are all immoral? I highly doubt any of us do not own stuff made by other countries rather than your local business. I live in the Uk but my iphone is designed in US and made in china/asia, Sometimes I buy beef/veg made in US and europe, so I must be a criminal to you.

I think it’s a bit deep of a conversation to get into here but a few more points would be I’m from Australia so the US reference doesn’t really apply to me. Having a lower price isn’t always what consumers are looking for our farmers have been doing it tough for a while due to drought and what not. Our major supermarkets were underpaying them for milk and it was unfair so the consumers demanded that they raise the price so more money will go back to the farmers.
Australia holds mateship and looking out for one another in high regards.
I do to own an iPhone but that is another example of a large company holding the monopoly so you don’t really have a choice.
If we are talking about China does supporting human rights abuse, child slavery and communism indirectly make you a bad person I can’t answer that it’s up to you to decide.

The fact is asking local business to reflect on there price just shows ignorance. There is no possible way they can sell those products as cheap as countries who don’t have minimum wages. Here minimum wage is near $20 China $2 see the difference. They simply can’t compete...

I get why ZOS apparently lacks interest in bots. What I don't understand is why Microsoft is not more interested in stopping botting on their consoles.

They are, actually. Back when I used to report bots, I reported to ZoS and Microsoft. I got substantially more action from Microsoft than I ever got from ZoS. As in actual acknowledgement that some of my reports had been acted on.

Interesting point, I wonder if we should generally redirect more feedback towards MS than ZoS.

Genius Idea: bots farm nodes right? And people hate wardens trolling players by “preventing interaction” with NPCs/quest givers.

Solution: give the wardens feral guardians a part time job placing their bears on resource nodes to prevent them from being collected by bots via interaction prohibeartion. While the honest hard working players farm nodes in DLC zones that bots can’t access.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

They've been there for like 5 years.

They probably ban them, but I guess people just create more.

This is a huge problem on PS4 as well. Not just in starter zones but in any location where bears, mud crabs or skeevers are in abundance. I was told once (regarding PS4) that this was a Sony issue and not on ZOS to address. I personally think it ruins the game and it’s economy. It’s cheating. It gives the bot owner an unfair advantage over resources AND gold gains.

My feeling is that this is complicated. ZOS is just the provider of a game. The players in that game are there because they are customers of Sony. They bought the console from Sony, the PS Plus from Sony, and the game from Sony. They are a Sony customer first, and an ESO customer second. That makes the whole banning issue something that is likely established between Sony and ZOS, the details of which might actually be written into the contract with Sony.

The same probably applies to XBox, but with ZOS now being part of Microsoft, the dynamic there has changed. To what extent, I have no idea. It is probably complicated there, too.

There would be a responsibility on both I’m unsure of Microsoft’s terms and services but Zenimaxs clearly states it is breaking there’s

Engage in disruptive behavior in chat areas, game areas, forums, or any other area or aspect of the Services. Examples of disruptive behavior include, but are not limited to, conduct which interferes with the normal flow of gameplay or dialogue within a Service, vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, use of excessive shouting [i.e., all text in capitals] in an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [i.e., posting repetitive text], commercial postings, solicitations and advertisements, posting advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.

This is affecting my normal flow of gameplay as I’m not able to play the game as advertised. It wasn’t advertised as mmorpg overran with bots in certain settings areas making it impossible to do certain activities and collect certain things.

    Another quote from Zenimax ToS

    Promote, upload, transmit, encourage or take part in any activity involving hacking, cracking, phishing, taking advantage of exploits or cheats and/or distribution of counterfeit software and/or Virtual Currency or virtual items. In an effort to continuously improve the Services, You and other players discovering exploits, cheats, cracks or other inconsistencies are required to report them to ZeniMax;

The ToS, CoC, and other rules can clearly state whatever they want. The only thing that matters is what gets enforced. Whether to enforce, and the degree to which they do it, are debatable where this subject is concerned.

Yeah fair enough didn’t realize it would be so complicated. Other games seem to have no issue perma banning people who use aim-bots exploits those sorts of things.

This has been a problem on console for years now. You'd think that with all the money they make they could hire some proper GMs - or just send the moderators in there since that would be vastly better use of that resource - that keep an eye on the game, run events, etc. Instead, management apparently doesn't care or it'd have been dealt with properly.

way back they DID have GMs ingame dealing with the bots. sorta kinda. game was over run.
