Edit 3: Ok, corrected the formulas (thanks @Masel) and properly copied them:

Download a copy to edit the variables. Let me know if anything looks off. Cheers!

Keep in mind that the ring just subtracts 50% from your critical hits down to a minimum of 0% additional crit damage, it doesn't halve the damage. The wording is a bit weird in the notes.

    wait what???????

so are you saying that if you have +60% crit damage (base 50% + 10%), then equip mala, you are down to +10% crit damage?

    Has that confirmed/tested?

Are you sure? That doesn't seem right.

It's 100% correct. That's how it works, I know that for certain. It always subtracts 50%. So if you don't have crit damage modifiers, you'll deal no crit damage.

I tested it on the preview server. That's how it works.

OK, I trust you. So it should really read "Subtracts 50 percentage points from your crit damage."

That seems pretty brutal, but I guess someone who knows more than I needs to find the point where 16% damage done is producing higher numbers than the crit when malacath isn't equipped.

hence the point of my spreadsheet, but now I need to change all the formulas. But it's not looking good for Mala with the SUBTRACTION of 50% crit damage

Yeah... I'm wondering how numbers for some proc sets are going to increase based on weapon/spell damage, and if there's no cap on the damage values, building for weapon/spell damage may produce some large numbers that Malacath will buff to high hell

Keep in mind though that you can only really amp the damage of one proc set... using several will make all of them much weaker. This system punishes stacking proc sets, which was the intention.
