No, if you lied about your drops (e.g. saying something of value didn't drop for you, when it did), and somebody calls you out on it... THAT IS STILL THEIR PROBLEM becuase they should not be looking in your inventory, they should not be ABLE to look in your inventory, they should not be able to see what dropped for you, and they are certainly not entitled to anything that dropped for you. Not even if they "called" for it in a dungeon run.
Somebody peeks in my inventory, they're not getting my stuff, even if it's useless to me and even if they can use it and I can't (which is never the case: supposing DD stuff drops for my tank, well, I can pass it to a DD.)

It’s not looking in you inventory, it’s looking at group loot information. Your DPS and healing gear you are wearing, skills you have slotted and more is logged as well and that information is available to everyone in the group. What’s in your bank and backpack is not logged.
Now, if they say in general group chat "has anybody got item X" and I happen to have a spare of it - that is, I have it "Collected", rather than "Not Collected" - then I *may* trade them it. If they offer to trade me a thing in return. But, acting like they're entitled to it
That's right never give anyone anything that peaks in your inventory. A guy begged me for a drop and I told him I would have given it to him but he used that add on. So I deconed it. That add on should be band.

Somewhere in the server is a list for what items are "active" in the game and where they are. It all depends what the API is sending and receiving.
Given how much private information ZOS is making publicly available through their API, I wouldn't be surprised. .

What do u guys mean exactly? And is there any way to guard against those inherent flaws within their API so as to prevent situations like apparently happened to the OP? Or is this just sorta par-for-the-course when logged into any online MMO ?
As far as the AddOn API goes, that is correct. AddOns can NOT look at someone else's inventory. It’s not looking in you inventory, it’s looking at group loot information.

No. Lets not get in that discussion. It was already exhausting enough a few weeks back.

My thinking is that there is an addon out there that is installed by "Luke" that notices certain collected items and sends a whisper or mail to the addon author. This might be without "Luke" even knowing. If such an addon exists, whether this violates the ToS or CoC is for ZOS to decide.HalfRain216 wrote: »More than likely was sitting at the writs drop off asking every person he seen dropping them off in hopes someone did pick one up.
Maybe writing a add on to block the intrusive one...I have some time in the coming week, I may look into it.

Still. that's stuff that SHOULD NOT be logged so that one player can see another. Players should have to literally ask to find what another player has in their inventory, or what loot dropped for another player. Not be able to spy into their inventory: and yes, it is spying into their inventory, because there is no such thing as "group loot that isn't individual to the player". Every player, INDIVIDUALLY, gets loot, and it's different. The loot does not drop to "the group, to be assigned", it drops to "the player".
And if somebody tells me that I've got something and they want it... they're not getting it, on principle. I'd rather smash it.

Addons can not send information. You would need to have a separate program running on you computer to do that and a backend server. Like what TTC does. Or ESO logs.My thinking is that there is an addon out there that is installed by "Luke" that notices certain collected items and sends a whisper or mail to the addon author. This might be without "Luke" even knowing. Interesting idea and that would actually be possible using the API.
If that is the case, it might be hidden within an AddOn that otherwise has a different functionality. Like the one that injected different display names for some self-proclaimed special elite players.

Wow. Do you realize that is incredibly selfish? Why do you not want to help people? If you want it then say so. Don’t destroy it because you don’t want someone else to have it.

This is so so so so messed up. An addon that scans what I loot in a group? This is just awful, fix or ban this addon ZOS. This definitely is an invasion of privacy. Why is this even possible?

What privacy? ZOS owns your data. Don't know why it's not a built-in feature like in most MMOs.
