So do people actually buy from Guild Traders outside of Capital Cities?

Like the ones in Outlaws Refuges and out in the world, and in smaller cities and whatnot.

Do guilds who own those actually make decent sales?

Or is it like 10 massive Guilds who make all the sales cause they own all the Capital City guild traders?

Yes, I buy from guilds wherever they are: if I pass a trader, I always check what they are selling.

I tend to keep my searches to a maximum of 10,000 gold per purchase whether its Motif pages or Furnishing patterns for things I don't have on my main. Sometimes you find some recipes under what they go at city traders, after this event I'll be hitting up every trader as everyone is going to be flooded with duplicates.

On PC people do use TTC, (with or without issues), on consoles, I've no idea!

if I pass one and have time and feel like it I have a quick look.

The only time I go out of my way is if I need something rare/expensive and TTC pointed me that way.

I often stop by at out of the way guild traders. You can find some very nice prices at guilds not controlled by the price fixing at the bigger city stalls. Especially on ps4.

Ever wonder why the price for, let's say, a purple jewelry plating is the same price at every trader? That's not often the case outside of big city traders, and if you can get there before the items get flipped, you can find some amazing deals.

Absolutely! I found the boot motif I have been looking everywhere for on a thieves guild trader. I check them all as I pass by.

My character “lives” in Shadowfen so I will shop there due to the convenience, and I’ve gotten a few absurdly good deals at the Shadowfen Thieves Guild trader which I suspect most people didn’t even knew existed.

Aside from that I go to Mournhold or Elden Root for everything when I know the price to expect. Every 2 months or so I’ll hit like 25 different traders to see if I can snag a deal but 80% or more of my purchasing comes from Mournhold.

With that said, the only things I really buy now are motifs/recipes that I randomly don’t have or trait gems that are incorrectly priced.

I've gotten some very sweet deals at castles in Cyrodiil

But no, in general if I need something on ps4 I'm going to the three capitals and that's all.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "decent", 1 mil, 10 mil, 25 mil, 50 mil, 100 mil?

On console it's a little more difficult for outside traders. Honestly, if I'm not looking for something specific I typically don't visit them. However if I'm in the area, I'll stop by and see what they have in stock. I often find myself buying maps or cheap motifs that I wasn't even looking for xD

I wish there these traders were in better locations for the guilds using them. It isn't easy to get a trader and even worse if you don't make anything after getting one. Doesn't have to be in a big city but a centralized location in the middle of nowhere with 3-4 traders will do.

Surely this is a rhetorical question. Of course "people actually buy from guild traders outside of capital cities."

As for "decent sales" that's rather subjective. Some of the best trade guilds I've been in are NOT in the main cities. And not everyone has the volume of stuff needed to make a main city trader worth it. Most players don't. And when main city traders tend to have weekly dues requirements, those are a poor choice for anyone who isn't a hardcore trader and ESO addict.

which in my experience is once in a blue moon. usually there is just stuff there I can find cheaper in vivec, mourn, or crag.

really not worth it time wise.

In the last three months, I've purchased exactly 2 items from guild traders. Well, more accurately, I've purchased the same item twice. Worms. I was in a hub, saw the traders and looked to see if they had them. If not, I moved on. I didn't scroll through to see what was available, I searched for what I needed, and if it didn't pop up in the search, I moved on. It didn't matter where I was.

I go wherever TTC tells me to go for lowest price. So, I don't think you will get much foot traffic at these smaller kiosks. You would need to list at an attractive enough price to make players actively seek out your trader.

My wares sell faster at my captial city trade guild than my other trade guild. But they still sell at the other trade guild. I don't have an issue with good items at reasonable prices expiring. Sometimes happens with less desirable items, those are often better off being sold at a capital trader.

My social guild which usually has a trader has one either in a DLC map or sometimes a smaller town or cluster of traders in a base game map (I can't remember us ever having one of the lone traders at a crossroads somewhere, I assume the leader doesn't bid on those) and we sell a lot of stuff to people who aren't in the guild (total sales of millions of gold each week) so yes it seems people do use them.

As other people have mentioned on PC Tamriel Trade Centre helps a lot. That's what I use if I ever want to buy anything: I go to the website, search for whatever I'm buying, sort by price and then check any listings which aren't so old they're unlikely to be there until I either find it or reach the limit of what I want to pay. It doesn't really matter where the trader is, I'll head to whichever one has the item/s I want. I find it to be far less hassle doing it that way than going to a city and hoping I randomly stumble on a trader with the things I want for a price which isn't completely insane.

I don't buy from guild traders on a regular basis, just when I need something, and then I use TTC to shop for the lowest-priced listings. I'll happily travel to whatever boonies or outlaws refuge a trader is located at to purchase something at a better price.

On rare occasions-- such as toward the end of the recent Jester's Festival-- I'll just check all of the guild traders in a specific city in search of the lowest price on an item, without traveling to a dozen or more locations as indicated by TTC. In that case I'll stick to a city that has several traders to choose from, which is generally going to be a capital city. I might do that to save time, but in the case of the Jester's Festival it was because TTC didn't even have the new style pages added into the database yet, making it impossible to search for them, so the only way to shop for the pages was in person.

I Absolutely go to the smaller city/hamlet traders. Kinda like in real life. I'd rather go to a tiny ma and pa diner for dinner then a chain restaurant like McDonald's. Support smaller local businesses and families. Support smaller guilds. 👍🏻

As others have said, the out-of-the-way traders often have exceptionally good deals.

So I definitely do use them, but I tend to only use the middle-of-nowhere ones and not the sit-through-extra-loading-screens ones in Outlaw Refuges and the like. Porting between wayshrines in a zone I'm already in is no big deal, but enough of my life is spent waiting on things that I try to avoid unnecessary loading screen where possible.

TTC better be taunting me with a really good (and recent!) listing for me to go into a Refuge for something. Honestly I mostly forget there are even traders in there! :D

I'm cheap. Prices can range $100K difference for the same item/trait/quality. So I have an Excel spreadsheet and when I'm near a trader, I'll check their stock. Some of the big city traders have some nice prices.

I often shop at smaller traders. Better prices, less noise and distractions. No one doing duels.
