ESO is not a grp friendly MMO .

Honestly, sometimes it's feels like a single player game in which many people are playing in the same game space rather than an MMO. In many respects games like Borderlands 2 did group play better. The least they could have done is made phasing match all group members (while grouped). I can understand not having shared objective credit, but not being able to even enter the same phase as a groupmate makes grouping feel pointless half the time.

As someone who plays with the same group of friends all the time, if one of us has to log off it means we all do since if any of us progresses at all it means those who weren't present get to solo what ever we completed in their absence.

I have been grouped with people in my ignore list.

I don't like groups, and a lot of the players are just griefers. There really are a lot of terrible people in game. I don't really enjoy most of them and don't want to experience them.

I also have the same problem with friends but on a different level; I am afraid to level ahead of my friends because I don't want to get 0xp and 0 loot from dungeons or bosses for being too high a level.

    Within; Without.

Just wait for the fanboys to tell you that this isn't WoW but ESO. ESO is all about storytelling and quests not an MMO as advertised.....

I agree for the first 50 levels its like you say, but VR areas are full of people looking for members or asking for a group in zone chat, because you cant clear most dungeons and bosses alone.

    De necessitate virtute.

Thatd be great if my terribad friend could *get* to vet content to group with me but that isnt going to happen. I see him quitting right about level 50 after he finally tries Mannimarco and cant kill him.

I have no idea how many times people repeat this, but here we go again.

1 - 50 is designed to be mostly solo, you are playing the storyline that sling shots you in to end game content and is only the beginning of the whole story. 1 - 50 is only 30% of the games current content.

Once you hit 50 you have another 100 levels worth of game play in Veteran content, 1 veteran level is equal to 10 regular levels and trust me, this is where grouping becomes not a requirement, but you will want to do it. Some solo public dungeons are more designed for two to three people, which is good, I like it like that and the Veteran Dungeons need a good solid understanding of your role and class to make it successful.

I will agree that it is a little different that other MMOs in the past. I do wish that they could some how fix it for your group that no matter what quest your on or your other groups mates are on, you are in the same instance. I think that would make a lot of people happy.

I agree. My boyfriend didn't join as planned because he got frustrated from the beta, and I've pretty much levelled to VR1 all on my own. I've made a few friends and joined a few guilds - but nothing at the level I wanted to, mainly because people are finding it easier to solo except for short periods of dungeons crawling.

People who are a bit shy online (most of us?) aren't really being given the chances to meet people I think its wierd to be doing solo dungeons where there are 30 other players doing exactly the same thing at the same time and ... theres just no incentive to group, or even talk.

Also I think that breaks immersion a lot: I'm a Nightblade and I like the shadows... Here I am in this big scary cave sneaking around trying to take out the monsters one by one when BAM!!! a train of other players comes in and smacks everything down in seconds.

Doesn't need to be group friendly because it's so heavily populated.

Since launch I've only had to ask for help twice. Because everywhere I go Navy Seal Team Six is always clearing the way ahead of me.

I've actually spent more time purposely waiting for things to respawn just so I can be challenged, get some experience points, and hopefully bag some loot.

Even in Cyrodiil. All you have to do is look for the fighting and tag along. You don't need to group. It's not like Lotro where you benefit from each other buffs when you team up.

This Synergy affects everyone in the area, regardless.

Which is why this game can almost entirely be classified as a solo game, though it isn't supposed to be. It's just odd game design.

I planned to group vr content with a friend in Sweden I gamed with for 10 years almost.

Bad. Player. Hell say so himself. Ragequits when its too hard.

Hell never get there because of the storyline quest boss mechanics. *sigh*

LOL, they're about to release a big content update that is ONLY GROUP CONTENT, where soloers won't be able to do anything worthwhile.
As someone who plays with the same group of friends all the time, if one of us has to log off it means we all do since if any of us progresses at all it means those who weren't present get to solo what ever we completed in their absence.
Er, this is EXACTLY how group-or-die games work, except in those the absentee then has to PUG the content they missed!

Not to mention there are other things those still playing can do. Sorry, you're making it up as you go and being completely contradictory.

Never had any problems grouping with my girlfriend ... just make a group and "travel to player". Except of solo dungeons for some quests, we were always in the same phase.

Also: it was clear (made clear by ZOS), that ESO would be mainly a solo game during the level phase. Nothing new here ... the end game and more precisely Craglorn will be more about group play. Also: in Cyrodiil you have the choice to play with a group or go and hunt some stealthers.

You also should consider, that the public dungeons is a form of "group play". As someone said, you almost always encounter other people running through public dungeons.

Sure I agree that the game is somewhat nonpersonal, because of the missing nameplates, but the game is as the devs said it would be in terms of group play.

And Craglorn does nothing for a duo. Which pisses me off beyond reason.
