Maintenance for the week of January 12:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – January 12

Imagine how packed the starter cities will be with prologue quests by 2025.

Imagine being a new player, went to their alliance city and get a million dlc prologues shoved in their face, sounds fun.

And ZOS won't do anything about it.

Well.... yeah.... but at least I'm not a new player.

Sorry for them, but it's not my problem, it's on the devs.

They could set up a Proloue Board next to wayshrine and be done with it. But that would obviously be too convenient and simple.

It's time to finally manage them, luckily I started at hotr without morrowind so it wasn't a problem for me but newer players are really lacking basic qol with questing. Especially after being thrown into chapters and dlcs, after which they MIGHT find it along with main quest or not.

No one said it was either, and a little sympathy for the new players wouldn't hurt.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

They have a crown store with a section specifically with FREE Quest Starters. How they haven't connected the dots is anyone's guess.

They should be in a section in collections where you can choose to activate them, like dlc/dungeon quests. This way people can also see what the correct order to play is. Basically only main game quests should be active at the start (zone story, faction, guilds and main quest), but with the option to turn the rest on from a menu.

Yeah, one of the most common things you see from new players is how confused they are with these prologue quests trying to rip them apart into 20 different zones. A new player doesn't know that those are prologue quests and should be ignored.

They're new players, how else should they know how long Stuga's been looking for them ;)

I can't imagine how jarring it is for a new player going into their alliance's starter city and finding the main questline, Abnur Tharn (Elsweyr Prologue), and Lyris (Greymoor Prologue) all waiting for them there.

It's a shame, because the stories in this game are quite good, and it's fun seeing old favorites come back for more adventures. But if I were coming to this game for the first time in the year 2021, I think I'd probably throw my hands up in frustration trying to figure out what's going on in the narrative. I mean, unless sections of the main quest have been rewritten to make sense if you do Elsweyr, Greymoor, or Markarth first. Have sections of the main quest been rewritten for this?

The current narrative is everything happens in 582, at the exact same time, so zero plot holes there :)

My solution would be to spread them out into zone that make sence
    For exemple

Elsweyr prologue in rawlka since the quest mainly take place in dominion land
    The Murkmire one on stormhold
The greymoor one could be windhelm
The drahonhold one would still be in stone fall for its akaviry part
The morrowind one would be in one inn not all of them

If more than one prologue start in the same zone they could use the secondary city if usable for exemple skywatch or ebonheart

That way it stop them from being ovwerwhelming for new player but also keep the quest in game wich is more imersive than trough a menu

They have so many good systems - like getting the starter quests from the store/collections pane and yet still choose to inundate new players/characters with noise.

    I suspect it's two issues
    1. the CM's aren't reading or communicating our constant feedback on pestering NPCs so the developers keep thinking it's ok. I get they're trying to get people into new content, but no one can look at the starter areas and not want some Daedric Prince to strike them down.
    2. Either a dev or monetization manager thinks it's a good way to sell new content. Again, they're less concerned about the user experience and don't realize this content delivery method really makes ZOS look bad.

Either way, I doubt it'll change any time soon. Buckle up.

The awful NPE is why I can't or won't recommend other friends to this game. It's painful for me to create new toons after playing 7 years, I can't imagine how bad it is for someone who's still trying to figure out why they don't need Methelgin.

They should at the very least give them different markers over there head. When i started last year it definitely confused me at first

They really don't need to do anything either.

However, it would be cool if the quest givers started fighting over you?

Stuga: "Do you know how long I've been looking for you?"

Concordia: "How would you like to do something worthwhile?

Stuga: "Back off, lady, I was here first!"

It should end in a fight. I will do the quest of the one that wins.

But you have alts? or you loose some million gold this event.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Sometimes it's a hindrance only being able to apply 1 "agree" to a single post. This is the best solution. Nothing cluttered or convoluted involved.

It would be interesting if they put all the prologue quest givers sitting around a table in a tavern chatting with each other, maybe with a number imbedded in the markers over their heads suggesting an order to do the quests in that makes the most sense.

EDIT: Or, at least have them fight each other for our attention, like...

“Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?!?”

“No, over here, I’ve been looking for you longer!”

“Don’t listen to them, Cyrodiilic Collections needs you!”

“But what about the dragons in my homeland?!?”

"You know how long I have been looking for you"
    "Help me please!'
    "I saw him first!"
    "No, I did!"
Npcs proceed to fight over player for who gets to give quest. :D
