QOL Game Feature: Ability to access your toons' inventory from home

I think, it will be a wonderful QOL improvement if we can access other toons inventory at home. This will allow easier transfer of items, upgrading items, and track your overall inventory. Why not make this another QOL feature for ESO plus? Maybe ZOS can generate more revenue with increased ESO plus subscription.

by at home you mean via webbrowser/app from outside the game?

if not and you are on pc. inventory insight addon tracks all your stuff.
ShutYerTrap (selectively mute NPC dialogues (stuga, companions); displayleads (antiquity leads location); UndauntedPledgeQueuer (small daily undaunted dungeon queuer window)

Ah, yes .. that would be cool, indeed.
But other characters would essentially become storage chests, meaning less storages chests bought from the crown store.

I don't think it would be economically wise for ZOS.

This could be combined with the feature to place your alts into your home. So interacting with them would bring up their inventory for quick exchange.

In this way it would combine two very nice features.

I just fear that ZoS does not want to do this because they want to sell their NPC visitors...

Let me add in an extra couple of words that explain why this could never happen:-

A possible abuse of a programming error is not really an argument...

Actually, it is. Why add something that can be abused, when you can just store stuff in the WH, or in chests in your home to collect later?

Given that data handling had to be moved from players to the server because of actual abuse in Cyrodiil, I think we can confidently say that the abuse of inventory data being stored player-side for the express purpose of the player being able to move it around (and upgrade it as specifically mentioned by the OP) would be inevitable rather than merely possible. As such it's a pretty compelling argument unless you can explain how such an arrangement would not be open to abuse.

What I read is that a new feature should not be implemented because one could possible find a programming loophole. This is too generic as a counter-argument in my opinion. Fine, upgrading could get fishy, but a simple transfer of items is already possible today, just with the bank as intermediate (and this is rather tedious).

Profuse apologies, I appear to have misread the original post - I took "at home" and read it as "offline"! I thought it was an odd idea, and an even odder one to support.

Now your earlier answer makes more sense. I think (and it didn't seem unreasonable, whether or not it's technically feasible) the OP just wants to be able to pull sets from another character without logging into them just to bank stuff.

Indeed, and I don't object totally, although I do in some respects in that I'm against anything that results in ESO becoming a game in which you can do pretty well anything and everything without leaving your house. Cities need a purpose, or the game dies through new players finding them empty and assuming the game is devoid of population and therefore not worth playing.

How much that applies depends on what exactly is being proposed. Being able to upgrade your items in the house also has implications on the present crafting setup, which is also critical to the game. I also think there would be a major uproar if something as fundamental as this was restricted to subscribers.

Just add it as an extra tab in the banker. Easy peasey.

That's already a thing. A lot of players use alts as storage.

    Oh alright thanks for clarification!

You mean a list of tab's for each alt in the inventory? Or in a context menu in the bank? I think in any case with many alts that would be too many menus. I would prefer a solution which also can place your alts in your home.

This feature would be so helpful. I use 2 characters and all the others are banks already. It is so tiresome to have to switch characters to get something you want and realize you went to the wrong one.
Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! - Spells and incantations for those with the talent to cast them!
