A couple of months ago, when I last played it, the character selection screen's background used to change based on which zone you were in before logging out. But these days, all I see is the same picture with the wall of a castle. Is this a limited time thing (because of Blackwood) or will it be like this from now on?

    I thought it was based on the character's alliance, not the zone they were in. So a characters background didn't change, but different characters could have different ones if they were in different alliances.

    But yes, it's now the same for everyone.

    The Alliance character backgrounds were replaced by Greymoor background with the release of Greymoor (Update 26) about 10 months ago. This background was replaced by Blackwood background 2 weeks ago with the release of Update 29.
    The Three Storm Sharks, episode 8 released on january the 8th.

    Individual characters still have bugged poisitons of their mounts .. not sure if that will ever be fixed in this sytem.

    Also the lighting is weird in the new system too .. seems like it should be looked at again!

    My backgrounds used to change when I moved to different zones and I only ever had a single character. I only started playing the game after Greymoor came out so I don't know how it was before.

    Huh. Maybe you had a unique “feature” that isn’t available to any of us? Played since beta and never seen that 🤷‍♂️
