It sure must be great to be a Botter. Much better than being me. I cannot loot dungeon bosses, just in time for all the botters to have already gotten tons of loot. To "punish" those botters, you make equipment break 10x as fast. Now, I have to repair my gear every 30 minutes, even if I don't die. I sure wish I had some of that Farmed Gold on my side so I could afford to wear Armor. The botters sure do!
In no time at all, these botters will all be level 10 vets. They will sell any accounts as such, and Cyrodil will be dominated by them. We will have emperors named ahheedd and asdrj, who through ill-gotten gains, shuttled ahead of everyone else.
Everyone else will have to compete with them.
Maybe you should make it so that all items have a 3 day decay timer, that will get those bots. Worn items, banked items, all of it!
Maybe you should make it so that when you kill a monster, killing any further monster of that type for the next 30 days gives 0xp and 0 loot.
Maybe you should make it so Gold Sellers can just apply for a special account and be given free level 50 V10's with maxed out skills while you are at it?
You need to solve this problem. Maybe you value the business of these botters more than my business?

✭BACK TO THE SUBJECT.
Before long, these botters will have top level characters selling on e-bay. None of these changes actually change the game for Botters. None of these changes carry out their "motive" instead placing a greater negative impact on the players than the botters.
Rapid Gear Decay, Boss Loot Changes, every piece of it. Soon they will probably ruin Cyrodil for non-botters too.
The Botters are the only ones who aren't suffering from this in the long haul.

Uncle_Bob✭✭Like I stated in a few of the MANY other bot related threads, ZOS needs to focus on bot and 3rd party tool detection methods through game code and not altering the game to change how/where bots farm. Botters can easily make changes with a few lines of code and adapt to any "new" fix ZOS puts in that ultimately screws legit players.2

You start making your way from the PC, heading toward the flight of stairs up, five seconds have passed and your mother shouts once more "Leeroy! Take the garbage out boy!". You sigh and get to the stairs. "LEEEEERRROOOOYYYYY YOU ARE SO GOD DAMN USELESS!!! TAKE THE GARBAGE OUT NOW!!!!!".
You climb the stairs and halfway up your mum's boyfriend joins in with "Leeroy boy, if you don't take that garbage out now I and your mother will stop paying your MMO subs boy!".

Degradation is happening for being in combat now. I'm not sure if it's applying simply as a tax on existing (I've seen reports that staying out of combat will still cause degradation), but even if that's not true, your outgoing damage or damage dealt to other players by your target or something is applying to your gear condition.0 -

gnostici✭✭✭Bots are only a problem when we're all forced to use them, such as when the game is balanced for macros and thereby nerfed for humans. A case in point is the bash animation cancelling issue. I've been testing this.
I can hit 250 DPS sustained or 450 burst, depending upon abilities used with a NB doing the bash animation cancel. People using macros can hit much more godly rates. So, people are calling for a nerf.
That would be balancing for robots. It would gimp everybody not using macros. If that kind of thing starts happening, abandon ship. Until then, the gold farmers are a nuisance but you can't get rid of them anyway.0 -

I was curious about that since I thought I noticed my gear degrading even without dying. Personally I don't like that. Not such a big deal for my lower level character, but once high level it is going to be a pain to maintain that gear, or attempt at crafting new gear to replace something valuable. It's too big of a gold sink.0 -
