Best dps this patch is mag necro

PS4 player here and we just got the patch. I am being told that mag necro is best magic dps class this patch. I haven’t heard about stam toons.

Can anyone verify or rebute?

Yes. Magcro is still best pve dps, as was last patch.

Class balance in this game is so broken lol, we've known the DLC classes were overtuned for ages and literally nothing has happened [snip]; Warden is simultaneously the best healer in the game and the best PvP build with Stamden, and Necro is the strongest PvE DD in the game on top of being quite strong in PvP as well. Who even plays Templar anymore? Or Nightblade? Even Dragonknight is just a buff bot now, only taken for Stagger, Chains, Engulfing and Minor Brutality. What's the point in having 6 classes if only two of them are viable? [snip]

Like, genuinely where are these builds that just show them dealing top-tier damage? Cause from what I've seen, they underperform in comparison to every other magicka dps class in the game.

So, OP, no. Magcros are not top DPS in PvP or PvE (Unless you count the fact they are taken literally just for their glacial ultimate then yeah, you will see them in raids.)

They have some of THE worst dps in the entire game and it's astonishing to see people apparently think otherwise. Very Jank ability, no execute, only 6 damaging skills. The class itself is a joke when it comes to building a 'dps' character.

The things that might make a magicka necromancer strong certainly have nothing to do with the class skills themselves.

LOL. Have you seen them in KA? SS? CR?

They struggle in vAS but so do most classes compared to NBs.

Alright then. So some are saying mag necro for best pve dps and some are saying not mag necro. I probably should have started a poll. Trying to figure out which of my mag toons to concentrate on this patch.

Ok, I understand how magcro's arent really the best but how can someone unironically say this when magDK's and magPlars exist.

Nah, Magicka Necro's are pathetically weak. I have two and their damage is abysmal. They CAN survive like no others and I can easily solo world bosses and do Vet dungeons but the damage dealt is horribly low. For an example for the final boss fight in Volenfell (SOLO run) my shortest time to kill all three is 45 seconds. Solo'd it yesterday on one of my Necros and I was in that for almost 5 minutes. I just cannot find a way to boost their damage higher.

Fun to play but sure as heck not OP in damage.

A fast scan through dps videos online shows all of the mag classes within 5% of each other in DPS.

Stam parses around 105K, mag around 100 with the premium parsers. Plus/minus 5% for each.

I dont know in pvp but Magplars were good in vet endgame pve a year/year and a half ago. If you can make a templar hit 100k like you can a magcro, ill shut up. Till then, hard NO.

Those saying Mag Necro are the top DPS have linked logs proving their point. Those claiming otherwise are Necro mains and are making their arguments in bad faith. We've known Necro has been top DPS for a while.

other than sorcs, i'll agree with you. magcros and magsorcs are at the top DD in vet trial logs and at 90Ks and 100Ks in parse applications. ZOS has other pressing issues to deal with.

Necro has a steep learning curve and a much harder rotation to master. Those insanely high parses you see from people online have truly mastered the class. It takes a ton of practice to get there. You could make the same case for nearly every other high parse out there. If you want the big numbers you better run a dynamic rotation. Yes Magcro can be janky as all you know what, but when it clicks, it clicks. Zos just makes us go out and earn it, no shortcuts on this class.

That's the truth, I regularly revert back to my sorc for the more relaxing gameplay. It is not a hard rotation, just a nerve-wracking rotation. No flow, no rhythm.
