I mean it goes both ways. A lot of people would just abandon the dungeon if they got one they didn't like, requeue, repeat. People do that already and just swap to another character
This, and as all is running random normals to grind cp, have fun getting the quest in a long normal dlc dungeon.
The random fungal grotto runs was old before everybody knew about them.
It blew up because idiots started to run 3 or two man groups with randoms and then port from say normal tempest to FG even if the randoms queued for tempest.
So yes without the penalty let us just leave and requeue.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Get rid of the penalty for leaving and maybe create a 5 minute grace period where you can't leave the dungeon. That way you temper the urge to immediately jump ship for some reason and at least give the group a chance.

As an experienced tank I can tell you that I can gage the group within the first few seconds of a dungeon and certainly after the first add pull. To give you examples of what you see:

    Dd running resist buff
    Dd running resto
    Dd running sword n board

This list could go on and on but the point is this, a lot of players in the queue are not doing enough damage for vet content, and experienced players can see that they won’t clear a harder dungeon. What am I supposed to do when this happens? Kick or leave. The alternative is to only do content as a pre made group. Before running vet dungeons from a random perspective it’s down to the player base to educate itself on roles and builds and to be mechanic aware before going into a dungeon.

Maybe there should be some way of being able to see what the group members are wearing, that way at least people can give feedback when someone turns up to a dungeon in pvp gear and wonders why they keep getting kicked.

If you leave in the first 2 minutes you should get a 30-60 minutes penalty. Several times people leave without even trying and it's always the tank or healer role. At least try before you leave and see how it goes.

Maybe let the penalty start at a hour and decrease at a 4-1 ratio until zero.

Stay strong, safe and enjoy the journey

A decreasing ratio is actually a nice idea. I'd vote for this.

Still have a hunch that any sort of penalty will only make the problem worse, not better.

Fewer people will do randoms, they will do that dungeon with the items they want.
Fewer people will do dungeons, which will add to cue times.
Fewer people will stay, penalty notwithstanding. If I zone in and see the DDs just rush off and pull 2-3 groups, I won't stay. Penalty or no penalty. Not putting up with that. And a good number of other's wont either.
This is certainly to be abused by some people. I would expect if there was a timer added, it could lead to increased shall we say, "alternative playing" that their other team mates players dislike, because the originator knows there is now a punishment timer and their team mates will think twice before leaving.

Trying to "force" people to do a certain activity, never works. Neither does brow-beating them into doing an activity they don't like, particularly if it is an every-day constant thing.

What´s wrong with a fake healer, except if it is a vDLC HM?

For you and I? Perhaps nothing whatsoever. For a new player, with a low level character not speced or geared to be self supporting? EVERYTHING! On my DPS for the normal daily, rando, I will leave echoing vigor slotted, to at least help out a lowbee who is at risk of going down because of fake healer. Honestly, it's no fun for a new player expecting the standard roles to spend a dungeon laying on their backs, with some players even refusing to pick them up.

That's why for normal non DLC dungeons I fake queue as a tank ;)

queues for normal daily random dungeon gets Maarselok... POPS SMOKE!

trust me, you want me to bail early, and bail often. ;)

    1. I never leave because of someone's level, more often than not I try to teach the mechanics of a dungeon to the few who will listen (I love it when I get a group that listens, I'll take a group of lower level, but the right roles, over a group of "Leroys" any day)
    2. The dungeons this most affects are the vet, most normals I'm fine with, I tank a lot and some of my tanks can handle some healing, mainly my necro, templar and warden tanks. Some of the lower level dungeons people could power through with 4 DPS, but that's something for pre-made groups to do and decide, not force on others.
    3. Whatever dungeon I get with a randy I try to do, you roll them boines you takes your chances, and randy I only do norm, there is no increase in reward for vet so why bother.

It's a shame the system punishes us instead of the fake, of course that would be harder to do and prove in an automated system, and resorting to reporting would just end up with nothing being done (that's my translation of the "we're not going to tell you how we resolve this" answer we get), overload some already overloaded mod with fake reports, and, again, be mostly unprovable on the player's end (yeah ummmm.... how we suppose to screenshot that or half the other things they want "proof" for)

I don't expect this to get resolved, certainly not soon anyway, but hey, gotta make a noise, squeaky wheel gets the grease
