Smaller Houses Wanted

Can we please have some smaller houses? All yall are making lately are Notables. ZOS, did you forget there are four other sizes of homes in the game? Sometimes we don't feel like paying for or tackling decorating a massive house. And cozy is nice too, hard to make a gianormous house cozy.

That and more plots, on which we can make a cozy little home or anything else!

I still want this to build on. And a rope ladder to climb up.

Oh and yeah other small homes would be appreciated. Especially if I can purchase or earn them in game.

I love small/medium homes and would love to see more!

Just a few ideas I've had for some:

    1) I'll start with the one I just recently made a suggestion thread for, a Vivec City home. Honestly, this is by far my most desired wish in Housing. I LOVE that architectural style.

    2) A small study inside Ceporah Tower on Artaeum in the actual Psijic Style. Exactly like Valsirenn, Iachesis & Sotha Sil have. Ceporah Tower is legit one of my favorite locations in the game and we do join the Order after all.

    3) A City Apartment/Home in Orsinium in Wrothgar. It's such a critical city & cultural hub for the Orsimer which revealed them in a light we hadn't seen before. I'm not an Orc character myself but would be fantastic for those who are.

    4) A smaller home in Brass City. The Observatory Prior is super cool, one of my favorites but would be nice to have a smaller alternative and also within the really cool setting that is the city.

    5) Sadrith Mora. Like #4, it would provide a smaller alternative to Tel Galen's Telvanni style. Also get the atmospheric bonuses of living in one of Elder Scroll's most iconic cities. Balmora as well would be a similarly strong candidate.

Absolutely yes to smaller houses; but also yes to larger slot limits please

Proudspire is one of the best-furnishable homes for example, because it's relatively small for the slot size (and it has good room divisions by default). Proudspire fits like three times into Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery which has the same slots. Sleek Creek house (a single room above a medium garden) is the same slots as Lucky Cat Landing!!! Lmao.

So please, when you add smaller houses but while keeping a relatively large slot limit, so we can have a decent space-to-slot ratio. (Enchanted Snow Globe Home while super niche, has great slot limit for its size). Otherwise, if you give us a small house with a 200 limit it will be just as annoying as when we get a giant house with a 700 limit - but instead of 7 poorly furnished rooms we'll have 2 poorly furnished rooms.

Blue! Glad to see you back I tried responding to you several days ago but it was saying your account wasn't active!

But yeah I totally agree with everything you said there but this one in particular really stands out to me as well. Strong room divisions is so critical for me in judging "Good" homes. Really helps with giving rooms strong specific purposes, themes and overall vibes. I'm very happy when I see a room has actual doorways and hallways.

Also is very nice in sealing off rooms if you decide it's an awkward space or want to save on Furniture Cap by closing off an entry. Makes it way easier and aesthetically cleaner to do.

I liked Proudspire for the exact reasons you list.

Yeah, great point about 'sealing' off rooms! I had to do it in Alinor Crest and luckily the doorways make us get away with it there too. I think many players on the forums have complained about layouts that are just one long space or a corridor-like sequence of rooms where it's hard or awkward to block off individual areas without cutting the whole house in half. Of course, if they gave better slot limits to their smaller houses, none of that would be an issue, so I appreciate this thread.

Perhaps your Vivec house concept from the other thread will be a perfect addition of a small but well-furnishable home! Hopefully your idea may inspire the devs to one day make our shared dream of a Canton home into reality! (And aaaw, dear Vehlir  Sorry to hear about the lost reply, and thanks a ton - I'm back now  )

Yes, I bought the Aerie but a shortage of Arkthzand Sprockets and purple furnishing plans led me to buy Mournoth Keep a few days later so I have something to decorate in the meantime.

It was nice to pay gold and get decorating right away, quite enjoyable. I’ve been wanting to do Orc furnishings for a while for one of my alts.

I agree more smaller houses would not hurt.

My desire would be a small cozy High Elf house somewhere in the wilds of Summerset. The island is big and the area so nice and colourful,I just love it.

Also,I really would like to see wood elfs getting more love and finally a notable bosmer home.Something inside a huge giant tree or something like that :)

Oh, I would love that, both of those ideas, sign me up and take my Crowns!

I LOVE the magical forested beauty of Summerset and would love a plot of land like Indrik Frolick and then lots of Alinor structural furnishings added to the game so we can make our own dream house!

You are so right that Bosmer have the least in furnishings and also no notable home available! A tree house with those lovely stained-glass-like windows would be awesome!

I will also add that I would love to have more smaller homes available in Vvardenfell, including a proper apartment in the gorgeous Vivec City and a townhouse in Balmorra!

I was running around Western Skyrim yesterday and came across Hunter's House - the crafting station for Stuhn's Favor.

Such a perfect smaller Solitude style house. I would buy it in a heartbeat

I'd also like to see more houses in middle size wise along with nice outdoor areas. With the houses themselves taking less resources than the huge ones that seem to get turned out on a regular basis it should leave room for more item slots too.

Regardless of the size of the house, but in any case it would be awesome if the indoor and outdoor areas were visually connected. I would like to be able to look out of the windows and see the designed outdoor area (and vice versa). However, this will probably not be technically feasible.

I wouldn't hold my breath for smaller houses, the big ones are money makers.

With that in mind, I think the intention is for us to close off and only use sections if we want smaller.

This is obviously not ideal and costs more for us, but it's the only solution I see right now.

If money is the issue they could look into making the smaller and midsize houses into bundles. Something like 4 small or 2 midsize in a bundle. Maybe 2 small and one midsize with different bundles being organized in housing style packages. Reasonable priced I think they might sell better than gargantuan houses ZOS has favored.

A lot of the huge houses are crowns only and the smaller houses usually can be bought with both crowns and gold, so this is coming across as nothing but a shameless cash grab and it tastes very sour.

Prouspire manor was very good addition - purchasable by in-game gold, decent furniture limit for size, "normal" house in town. Every bigger town should have some small, medium or larger house with typical for town architecture. I really love just regular houses, not some crazy caves, lairs, etc.

Smaller houses have so much potential in my opinion!

You can use structure stuff to build around or even inside great things <3

    I totally agree.
FIRST though I would like to restore Bleakrock Isle ( I have ask about that before with no response from ZOS ) and then have a nice small house near the Wayshrine to call home. Gosh...that would be nice but will never happen.
But a yes for small homes!!

I recently purchased Daggerfall Overlook, and I feel like it's fairly close to what we've been asking for. It's a notable with the furnishing limit of one. And while it's still too big to be a "normal" house, it's not too far off. The wings on the first floor could be used for a kitchen / office, and the main room could be separated into living areas. The second floor isn't huge, and it has a set of rooms that is workable. The basement could be a crafting area or a family room type space with the sunken floor. If you don't like the sunken floor we now have a few craftable inserts that could make the floor one level. There's a stable outside, a nice barn that you can build just about anything in, and a tower room that could be a cozy retreat. I usually build my houses as living spaces as opposed to fantasy spaces, so please forgive my lack of creativity. I just think Daggerfall Overlook could be used as an example of what ZOS should move toward. Livable spaces with logical floor plans. These ginormous palaces with more rooms than Buckingham Palace are just too hard to successfully decorate.

That and the layouts of some of them. Look at Stone Eagle Aerie, it's horribly compartmentalized. It doesn't feel like a house because it's just a bunch of rooms all broken up and separated. If it weren't for that I'd have bought it because I love the architecture but I absolutely hate the layout with a passion.
