Game in DESPERATE need of new weapons.

    Would like to see a new ranged weapon next to the bow skilline. But definitely better servers before adding more ''content''.

    I've often wished we had spears, and I wish we could use our wizard staff as a melee weapon too...

    After going on 7 years without a single new weapon option added, it is long overdue. In a game where literally the entire build process revolves around weapons, having every class have only such a limited number to choose from after all this time really diminishes the work they are trying to do with CP and balancing.

    So many build options come down to the same old boring cookie cutter weapon skills. Arrow barrage and blade cloak. Wall of elements. Blah.

    What about something creative that actually adds to class fantasy? They could have 1h+rune or wands, spears or bo staff...

    But my ultimate favorite, LUTE!

    It would be SO much better than an entire Bard class, to have a weapon that let you spec into any of the major buffs your class is missing, while also having all sorts of AOE damage/buff/debuffing options. Plus with morphs a tone of ways you could tailor it to stamina/magicka and class mechanics.

    I hope ZOS will consider this and adding more character slots (18 is just not enough in an MMORPG).

    Wands do not exist in Elder Scrolls. (Technically, they do but they are a laughing stock among mages and used for nothing more than cheap party tricks. They are genuinely not a weapon and more like a whoopie cushion.)

    And you can already use a lute. Bards do not work the way you think they do in the elder scrolls world. You can already be a bard, I am sorry to say.

    What would be acceptable weapon options though would be:

    Spears
    Different variations of staves
    One hand and rune
    Tomes
    Hand-equipped magic


    And probably you could fit in other weapons too if you really wanted. Like flails and such. But harps and lutes? No, this isn't the universe for that.

    What? Bard class? False universe. TES bards are storytellers and singers, nothing more, nothing less.

    While I'm as opposed to a Bard class as anyone, this is just totally wrong. Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion all had playable Bard classes. That said, in all of those games, the Bard was also more of a hybrid warrior-mage-thief, and not a musician.

    The people on this forum asking for bard do not want that. They want a musician, which does not fit the world at all. You can already be a 'bard' by this sense.

    I am not for a bard. But if someone absolutely needs one, then he should not "fight" with a lute, but demoralize and weaken the opponents - with something similar to a Carnyx horn.

    We‘re getting new servers this year, but ZOS already said that they won’t improve performance. New servers doesn’t mean better performance in the end.

    Bare as a new class wouldn’t work. But I could see a Bards College skill line under the tab where Mage‘s Guild / Fighter‘s Guild / Psijic are. It could be a skill like focused on buffs and helping your allies, with some heals here and there. Maybe even a skill that prevents one from dying for a short amount of time (the ultimate most likely).

    But as we got Solitude in Greymoor already and they didn’t add a skill line reminiscent of that, I doubt it. I mean we were even collecting all those instruments in Skyrim and that would have been a cool way to level the skill line... talk about missed chances.

    Even if ZOS decided to do fighting bards, they could easily fit the class into existing weapon skills. StamBards would be 2H, SnB, Bow, and DW, probably favoring SnB. MagBards would be staff. Class skills would probbaly favor deception, illusion, and persuasion. I would be surprised if ZOS did both a class and a weapon in the same update. That would be a big change for them.
