Even if it is, a dog just does not have the attention span to keep up an activity like that, especially unsupervised, for very long at all.

I don't think a dog can actually "play" or "enjoy" the game. It can be trained to do so bc dogs enjoy treats and rewards. In this sense, the grinding is a manifestation of how game companies treat gamers like sub-humans. Grinding isn't "enjoying" the game, it's the company giving players treats so they can continuing consuming.
