Is ZoS considering compensating veteran players for the experience they lost at all?

You cashed in your experience for cp points. Granted you didn't have a choice about it.

What exactly did you lose? If you were CP 1000 when the content hit you are still CP 1000....

A fine example is the green tree. If you wanted to harvest twice as fast and get a chance to double gain from nodes, you would need 75 points, or a CP level of 225. If you want to get back those same passives, you need closer to 150 points, or a CP level of 440-ish. So if you were CP 300, you would have lost those passives and have to grind to get them again.
It would be fine if the devs just thought you should get more experience before you get access to those perks... but they don't. Under the new system you don't actually need more experience. They just didn't consider your current CP, so you slipped through the cracks.

you can apply this logic all the way up the tree. It's not as though CP 1800 this patch is stronger than CP 810 last patch. It's the new 'max' level, and overall is a little weaker than the old max level was. I'm CP 1000, and when the patch rolled over no one's CP was adjusted, so I'm still CP 1000. Now that CP 1000 only gets me half the bonuses though, and I'll need to double the experience I currently have to get back the same damage I already had before.

At some point you need to allow catch-up in games like this. Otherwise all the power rests in the hands of not the most skilled players, but those who have played the longest. And that's a terrible system.

Nobody lost anything. Those who grinded harder over the years still have an advantage, an edge over their newer peers. It's just easier for people to catch up now.

So no I doubt ZOS will do anything and frankly I hope they don't.
They could have made it easier to catch up by making CP twice as easy to get. Y'know, like they already did.
Or, alternatively, made CP matter less... also like they did. They didn't have to halve all the current veteran players' effectiveness.
Those who grinded for years have an edge over other players yes, but not a good one comparable to how long they put in for it. I'll need to gather 500,000,000 experience total to hit CP 2000, whereas a new player would need to gather 300,000,000. I don't care that it's easier for the new player, but why do I need to have more? Where did 200,000,000 of my experience go? I can't use it for anything, and I can't recollect it. That's... pretty much the definition of lost.
