A reason to play?

Ive wanted to come back to eso for a while now, but every time I log on, I have no idea where to start to get back into things.

Ive seen the updates over the last 1-2 years, wanted to play with the new systems, but every time I log on... nothing...

Idk, am I being dumb? ESO has always been a game for me where I have to almost force myself to get online and play, and then end up enjoying it down the line, but I dont even know where to get started these days.

I have 8+ max level characters, 700CP in EU, 500CP in NA, ive done every trial bar the last few, many of them in veteran, ive spend hundreds if not thousands of hours in PVP...
The idea of doing the rest of the trials does interest me but "getting back into" eso with this as the main aim makes no sense... I have to start or find a competent guild and progress with them - that is very long term thinking

Maybe im being dumb, thought it would be interesting to get peoples opinions; what can I do to get back into this game after so long

A reason to play this game? For fun. No seriously, if you genuinely don't enjoy the game anymore, forcing yourself to play it will not result in you enjoying it more down the line; this isn't a game where you need to grind everything in order to get to endgame so that you can then start doing content you like, the content you enjoy should already be present right in front of you (especially if you're already CP 500-700), and if it isn't, then maybe consider what you really are looking for in a game and seek that out instead. I personally enjoy the depth and breadth of lore about just about anything you can name in this game, along with the well-crafted storylines and characters with actual voices and history instead of just some text; plenty of other games offer a large open world to explore with raids/trials, dungeons and PvP, but having tried many of them, I can say with some certainty that a fair amount are extremely disappointing once you get to endgame and realize there's hardly anything there past the same 3-4 activities and dailies to grind each day.

Start a new character and enjoy the game again from scratch, perhaps on the other regional server if you don't have a spare slot or if you want a totally clean start without CPs, gold, crafting abilities, etc. You can always worry later about guilds, trading, PvP, trials etc. once you've discovered how to have fun just playing the game rather than forcing yourself into a particular aspect of it that you've either forgotten or never enjoyed in the first place.

:P I thought about that a while back, I now have fully geared out characters on both regions, but if I could, I would definitely do that again, always fun

Also consider exploring the other things you can do in eso, like decorating, I found myself deeply addicted :D

Bother with learning recipes, new toys to build a bed out of four cupboards, or an entire building. It's a multi dimensional puzzle I find myself spending alot of hours on daily, it's a nice quiet-time where your guilds aside, don't really have to deal with people, making it that much more fun when you don't feel forced to "people" ;)
