If proc sets make it back should each class have an ability reworked to include reflecting projectiles?
As this wouldn't affect melee proc builds, if proc sets make it back should the sets that proc from melee attacks be toned down in terms of damage through battle spirit?

✭✭✭✭✭No to both and explain your positionWhat have projectiles to do with proc sets? At least none of the obnoxious proc sets have projectiles that I can recall... Regardless, I want to battle other players, not their **** armor.
Armor should work with and augment a player’s abilities, not do any significant free damage for them. I don’t see any need to do that with Battle Spirit, just fix the OP sets.3 -

Ahk1lleez✭✭✭My line of thinking here is that toning down the damage through battle spirit would not affect the sets in PvE gameplay. I mean, they aren't META anyway, but you wouldn't get the PvE crowd complaining about nerfs due to their performance in PvP.
As it was before the Cyrodiil test, a lot of the worst offending sets have conditions which allow them to be set off from range without the risk of being in melee range. There needs to be a counter in my opinion, and simply slotting purge is not a counter.
I regret calling for Wings to lose their reflecting capability. I still fondly recall bouncing meteors between DK's. Meteor being determined to be a projectile is another debate entirely I guess.
I'm just trying to think of ways to bring things in line while keeping everyone happy while also improving pvp balance.
As for mag players being unfairly nerfed, there are ways around this. For example make one of the force shock morphs unreflectable among other things.Edited by Ahk1lleez on March 3, 2021 9:20PM0 -

Direct damage proc sets should stay as is...BUT should be limited to wearing 1 per character, similar to mythics. This would include monster sets as well.
Speaking of mythics - malacath needs to also be changed to not buff proc set / monster set damage.

Not all of us want to play with pure statsticks all day.
Sure free damage sets like venomous mite or cheese defense sets like crimson should go, but to remove all non statstick gear is silly and pretty remove removes the purpose of the rest of the game outside of pvp.
Ill gladly take a more fun pvp system over a purely "stat stick = skill based" pvp system.1 -

In all seriousness though the reality is that proc sets in combination with malacath and HA stacking health builds are dominating the current meta because the are the antithesis of balance. There is no sacrifice needed whatsoever on behalf of the player You get max survivability and equal damage as a max stat build with no downside.
I dont see how its controversial to say that this is wildly unbalanced.

Vermintide✭✭✭✭No to both and explain your positionThe problem isn't actually proc sets, the problem is how everything in the game is tuned around CP (and the endless power creep it gives), and the underlying balance that means a lot of builds are weak without them, while others who are already strong over-perform.
Good luck playing a magblade these days without Zaan to lean on, for example- A set many would call OP, but frankly it's the only reason you can still get kills on that class. Meanwhile I recently got my Necro to 50, and I've been walking around killing people by accident in my crafted PVE gear. I can only imagine the horror he'd be if I put some research into his build.0 -

✭No to both and explain your positionIf a proc set does high damage it should be harder to set the proc off. Same goes for defensive procs. Also engine guardian needs to be looked at. ✭Wait, why would you suggest that only procs from melee attacks should be nerfed in damage? Aren't ranged procs way more obnoxious to deal with? And why grant every class the ability to reflect projectiles when that falls under the purview of one of the last remaining abilities iconic to Dragonknight? Man, the class is already a shell of its former self, at this point you might as well just take its entire class identity apart and spoon feed it to the other classes. GRXRG✭✭✭✭They just need to do the same they did to the DoT meta years ago.
Nerf all proc damaging set by 75% and they are balanced.
So they give you a little extra damage to help you, but not the carry damage they offer now for simply doing nothing.
Or as some people stated, a minor damage nerf, but a global cooldown on procs so only 1 proc effect can be triggered in a window of 10 seconds.
