Nerien'eth Rework?!

Would you be in favor of reworking the Nerien'eth monster set?

Or do you like it just the way it is?

Personally, I've always found this set pretty underwhelming. I want to like it, but I just... don't.
If it were up to me, it'd essentially be turned into a Magicka damage version of Sellistrix. So basically, it'd briefly stun enemies in its area & deal medium damage every ~8 seconds.

But I'd love to hear others' ideas in the comments! :)

I think it was slightly re-worked once already. I remember that the 1 piece used to give health, and now it doesn't anymore :(

I think about this set when I kill the faceless in vatacen delve behind harluns. Liches have some cool looking skill effects, but they picked an easily avoidable one that is also weak on damage.

It's less useful in practice compared to grothdarr or skoria in pvp imo. Idk what it's like vs. a target dummy but I never see it in dungeons.

This set doesnt work with plague slinger, it cannot proc even plague slinger consider direct damage. Tested over 20 times, doesnt proc at all

Either buff the damage substantially or lose the delay. Ilambris is same radius, higher damage, and no delay. I don't know why you would use Nerein'eth over Ilambris, let alone a set like Maw or Zaan

The AoE is too small. The delay is a problem. The damage is low.

Kjalnar's, Zaan, Maw are all better single target.

Grothdarr, Domihaus and Ilambris are all better AoE (and generally single target too)

It would be great for PvE if they just increased the proc chance (or decreased the proc chance and made it proc on any damage, instead of just direct damage).

Make it a defensive proc set that spawns 3 bombs like the mobs do.
    PvP needs more love.

I kinda like this idea, but I'm afraid it would contribute to the "OMGLOLWTFISGOINGON" effect when there's just way too much happening on-screen at once.

Imagine seeing those crystal shards popping out of the ground constantly around your tank in a dungeon; you'd be rolling all over the place trying to dodge them like a fool! haha
Actually, that kind of makes me like the idea even more! :D

Yeah, performance-wise it's just totally outclassed, which is a shame.

As for why anyone would want to use it; well, it's one of few sets that's not "Fire, in their face!" "Fire, from a pet!" "Fire, swirling around!" "Fire, in *** form!" "Lightning, I guess... but also FIRE!" and sometimes I think we all just want a little variety for its own sake. More sets need to be made "worth it" for that reason alone, imo. :/

...huh. Learned a new prohibited word on the forums today, I guess. The stars make it look worse than what I actually wrote, so I'll just leave it to your imaginations! :D

As a point of comparison, if you could proc Nerien'eth on cooldown, it would deal twice as much damage as Ilambris. The problem is that the 15% proc chance on direct damage means it will actually proc way less than that (it should average just below Ilambris if you do nothing but spam single target direct damage and weave perfectly).

What makes 0 sense to me is they have a liche who summons like 6 liche crystals, and somehow some way who ever designed this monster set, just didn't care to make it right. Honestly it should summon 4-6 liche crystal's and snare the attacker or slow them down, and of course you can dodge roll out of it to make it fair and not OP. But they had a concept and I feel like they blew it. I really enjoy this monster set but it just isn't viable at all in pvp really.

Mazaluhad in imperial city is what they could have used as a reference for the nerienth set.

I use it on my Necromancer for roleplay reasons only and yeah. It needs a rework but I do wish they keep the lich-crystal idea of it. I just not sure what would be best to give it an interesting use.

I am using it and the only thing I would like to change is to make it proc faster. Trash mobs are usually dead before it explodes.
I don't want it to be changed into stun set.

Why not make it a set that summons some skeletal Warriors or various undead and does necromancer/lich stuff instead of tossing a re-skin of an existing set on it?

I'm all for changing this set. But please. Let's keep it thematic and give it the ability to like, idk, summon some skeletal or wraith guardians (similar to the ones from the actual boss fight)

At the time 6 would have been OP, i would have preferred they used the bosses thrown skull mechanic which provides a knockdown if not blocked
