Why no reply button

Why is there no way to reply to mail without going and typing their name back in to a new mail. I know it sounds a little lazy, but its a simple thing and an inconvenience. So I want to know am I missing an easier way? Because I tried coping a persons name and pasting it but that did not work.

I asked my self this as well, Minor over sight perhaps? I am sure it will be added in time...once some of the bugs are stomped on.

yes its an missing feature who will be fixed.
Stuff like this almost always pass beta testing as its not something you miss until you actually use it

Agreed. They also need to add an ignore function to guild invites. I get guild invites from gold sellers all the time.

Sssssh, if they figure out that it doesn't have a "reply" button, we're going to have 200 000 Youtube video describing why this isn't an MMO based on the mail not having a reply button

Small stuff like that is forgotten all the time.
I work as a software developer and its never in specifications and nobody miss it before the system is used, beta will rarely catch it.

should be pretty easy to fix, create new mail with sender of active mail as recipient.

I'm a software developer too, and a big fan of the game, but honestly this is one of many examples where there are clear signs of a subcontractor doing only exactly what was specified in the requirements without having any sense of ownership of the final product.

subcontractors would explain all the inconsistency of the game features and systems. And I think we all can agree subcontractors are a great asset for a developer, but developers can quickly OD on them if they aren't careful.

I'm a software developer and indeed a sub-contractor, I would have taken ownership of the product or at least my section of it and probably added the functionality anyway and explained why later.

Indeed that is a little annoying; but not as bad as having a small ignore cap currently...we really should have had ~1000 at start instead of 100..

There is an addon on ESOUI that adds mail functionalities like the one you are talking about and more. It is quite normal for games that allow addons to leave this kind of 'extra' out and then incorporate them later on. Most of today's WoW UI for example wasn't there when it launched and Blizzard went on incorporating functions that people had developed as addons.

Ah and my ignore list only has idiots in it, I don't need to add gold spammer, as another addon keeps my chat window free of them
