[snip] The test are useless, and they know it. If they keep running tests they can pretend like they’re investigating and next thing you know we’ll be here 3 years later with the same issues if not more. You may not have procs and cross heals in the future, but you’ll still have the crippling lag

[snip] the tests are ostensibly for exactly what @gatekeeper13 said; ZOS told us they're looking for specific data they can use to make better attempts to combat lag and whatnot. If they're just kicking up their feet for three weeks and laughing at us while they take a break, then that's on them -- there's no reason to assume players who want to help devs improve the game are stupid or whatever.
We all want the problems fixed, and some of us are willing to ride out a few tests to help pinpoint where those efforts are best spent. Everyone complaining on the forums about short-term temporary tests are the ones who need to get a grip. Any reasonable person should understand that testing might be a bit bumpy. It will all be over before long, anyway.

A few tests? We had 6 weeks of tests last year that ended up being useless. They're testing stuff on a live server for a game thats been out 7 years. 7 years and not only have they not added anything significant to Cyrodiil, they're still trying to just make it work.
I'd be willing to bet this "test" was just a way to buy them time so they look like they're doing something when really they're just waiting for the next patch.
I doubt the game will really be fixed until they move more things back client side and come up with some other anti cheat system. Too bad that won't happen.

The fact that zos is so cheap they force testing on the community on a live server is unprofessional and unacceptable unless they are willing to pay us to do the testing, hell i could muster 100+ pvpers including entire guilds to do this testing for them if they had monetary incentives but as it is who wants to pay for a game where your a free beta tester?

I actually want to double down here. I want zos to make it so that only light and heavy attacks are all that works. Remove everything and if we are still getting lag then we know it's all on their servers.

We need to take things even further. Besides doing that, remove all weapons and armor from the equation. Let's have a giant unarmed brawl.
I'm pretty sure it'll still lag, but at least I can RP that everyone is really drunk then...

Stop blaming my router, add-ons, and server calculations and invest the time and money it would take for better server performance. When I bought this game I had a flip phone and Youtube restricted me to 10 minute videos that took hours to upload. The world has since marched on to 2021 and with ESO's servers, we're still stuck circa 2014.

I don't think the new hardware they are getting will make any difference. Moving calculations back to the client will. Using another method for eliminating/reducing cheating would help as well. I don't think they'll do that though as they have backed themselves into a corner with stadia amongst other contracts they have previously made.
No server could handle the code and calculations that ESO's servers are receiving. Their thesis in reducing calculations is correct, but their method is deeply flawed IMO.

What every serious business do. Hire a competent external audit, fire the incompetent people (that include those called "senior" analysts etc) and hire new ones. Things cant go worse, believe me. In the worse case we can maybe play using kicks and punch, what is more than nowadays. Zos has pretty good artists, but leadership is terrible looking the results year after year.
