This game is rich with Lycanthrope lore. I wish they would add more forms for us to take on in the game. Would you like to see this?

Werebats and Werevultures of Valenwood

Wereboars of Hammerfell

Werecrocs of Blackmarsh

Werelions of Elsweyr

Werebears of Solstheim

And the Weresharks of the Sea (According to M'aiq the Liar)

Yes. Could just be a skin to change the look.

They really need to add more to that cosmetic collection, the warden bear skin is lonely.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

As long as this comes with the equivalent of

"do we need more bloodlines?" For vampires I am all for it.

If you expect vamps to not get this treatment then I am against it.

I would settle for vampire lord/blood knight skins or form variants.

I have posted about this elsewhere, arguing similarly. Hircine is not wed to wolves, there seems no reason why his blessing should be limited to wolf transformation.

    Werecat for the win. Meaow.

While I am all about Vampires, I am not sure what value adding "bloodlines" would bring. Developing additional werebeast aesthetics provides variety for canine lovers, but what would the bloodlines bring? Different vamp skins? Id be down with that I guess, it would give a lot of folks what they want, i.e the ability to NOT look like the standard vamp aesthetics, which for some reason, some folk dont like.

Personally re vampirism, while I am here I'll have a wee rant as a side note..
it was in a bad place, only really used for a passive buff to mag recovery and survivability, with a few niche builds using moist form or the ulti. Now? Well after the initial excitement and outrage from different sections of the community, I swung one way then the other, there were positive elements and negative. I welcomed the changes, I think most agree change was needed. But ultimately, I think the rework failed to achieve what it set out to, which was make vampirism a viable play style instead of just forgotten about passive bonuses.

It just doesnt work like that. You can see the idea, make it prohibitively expensive not to use your vamp skills, but reward their use with far lower costs - but the balance isnt right, the negative debuffs you receive just arnt worth messing around with trying to actually play fully as a vampire, cos the skills just arnt strong enough to make up for it. It can be viewed as a high risk high reward play style, but for the average gamer, thats unlikely to appeal... while werewolf, to really get the most out of it needs skill and a proper ww build, but it is the case that almost anyone can chuck that ulti on and away you go, kicking bubble gum and chewing rear end.

I do think the new vamp skills are better for the most part, and I do think it is now more possible to play as a vamp more than it was before. I tried, it kinda worked, if you thought carefully about how to create incoming health, to offset the ticking damage, dps potential was high... but I just didnt enjoy the playstyle, it required intense concentration to manage the buffs to damage and debuffs to health etc, it wasnt relaxing. I actually created a new Magblade especially to build into vampirism and play as a vamp, which as I say I did for a while...but ive ended up reverting her to a normal Magblade and shes kicking out awesome dps without worrying aboutbeing a vamp and all that entails.

I am willing to buy a Werecroc skin for a WW, even if it is Crown Store only. I mean we have a Black Marsh chapter & possibly other swampland area in next story DLC. So it would kinda fit.

But I am pretty sure (unfortunately) it won't happen any time soon and the next were-creature related contend will be Solstheim zone (we will probably get it eventually, some time in the future).

Yes but don't forget that the wereform depends on who bites you.

E.g. sanius lupius is for werewolves and werecrocs or werebears have different ones.

    Werebears would be awesome!

It'd be cool even just to get some skins for the form. Why is the grey bear still the only thing in the 'Special' section of the collectible tab?

I'd love to have the option to be different kinds of werebeasts.

I'd actually prefer it if they were distinct - so to become a wereboar you have to be bitten by a wereboar and so on, even if the skills were the same (for the sake of balance and not over complicating the game). That would be more interesting than just having skins you select after becoming a werewolf.

(Although I have to admit I would do silly things like make a khajiit werelion and try to design their khajiit form so the transformation is as minimal as possible. I have often wondered how foreigners could be sure they were seeing a werelion in Elseweyr and not an angry pahmar-raht or something, other than seeing them transform of course.)

If you read the lore, you'd find that there's differences between the bloodlines. Immortal Blood is a good place to start.

Absolutely. Skins would be great. I belong to a werewolf guild and we banter about this often. I would like a purple mohawk and another wants a pink bow for her hair.

It could be an outfit or I would pay crowns for it. It would be a fun addition to the game.

Yes, but not in this game. Why?

Because I want it done right.

That's not to say I don't have confidence the team who develops this game could do it right. I do. But I have confidence that the higher ups wouldn't give the time and space needed to do it right.

It isn't sufficient to just plop in a bunch of alternate models and animations, which are time-consuming to make in of themselves. All of these new types need to be a fully-integrated part of the game world with all the lore and story that we expect of the Elder Scrolls IP. Doing this right would also require at least some changes to the existing skill line, which means each were-variant would need its own skill line to be done right. This is a massive undertaking and it won't be done. Which means if they do add in new were-variants, they will take shortcuts and not do it right and it'll be terrible. Do it right or not at all. So I vote a very solid NO.

Of course, more variety is always welcome.

A question, though. Would it be appearence-only, or would stats/passives/skills change as well?

More Werebeasts and Vampiric strains. And they should have unique, well thought out skill lines to diversify gameplay. The correct term is therianthrope. The lore book 'On Lycanthropy' points this out because while werewolves are the most ubiquitous they were never alone.

Honestly we should have all the Canon Werebeasts as polymorphs for the Werewolf transformation, while maintaining the Black/White colorations for the Morph. Plus the Skeletal Werewolf you can see in Unhallowed Grave.

And give the Vampire Ultimate the same treatment. A Bloodknight morph, Vampire Lord (The generic one, not something like Rada's), a Brown/Tan variant similar in color to Lady Thorn, and a "Void-lord" like we see on one of the antagonists of the Markarth DLC.

More customization is never a bad thing.

This sums up how I feel about it. We need polymorphs like yesterday. Or at the very least different color variations. I personally would like to see a undead variate like the one from the Daggerfall story quest line. A skeletal one sounds good to if you are using the skeletal polymorph.

Sure we are probably going to get charged and arm and leg for them, but at least we’d have the option there.
