To level veteran ranks,

How many quests are required in each zone to level your veteran rank accordingly? There are 10 zones, and 10 ranks, so is it possible to gain one level in each zone JUST by doing the main zone quest? or do you need to 80% it?

What is the bare minimum?

(Motivation for minimalistic approach: If i wanted to play the other zones, I would have made a toon on a different alliance. IMO I was wanting to complete my alliance's quests (Which I probably completed about 90-95% of), save Nirn from the clutches of Molag Bal, and participate in epic PVP. I see now that to be effective in PVP, I must now GRIND through all 10 other zones. I just want to kill some elves guys. All i want. (and before you say it, i'm talkin the juicy player elves, the ones that go SPLAT when I plant my hammer in their spleen - not NPCs))

Seems like you Need to do about 100% of the Quests in each Zone + WorldBosses + Dolmen + Public Dungeons.

If you add in a few Vet Dungeons you will be able to ignore some quests...
If you dont do some VR Dungeons, you have to grind a few NPCs to reach the next VR lvl before the next VR Zone.

Spoiler: You can kill alot of Elves guys btw :) not all, sadly, but alot...

Each zone finished = 1 veteran rank

Your choice is basically to either finish every single bit of PvE content in the game, or to do things that common folk might consider "exploiting". It is a choice though.

If I remember correctly, you don't get VRXP from mobs, they are only obtainable through quests and PvP.

As VR1, I only seem to be getting XP from quests (haven't been in PvP yet as that is my weekend activity ;) ).

Thanks for the answers guys. I'm not much of a "farmer" so i guess it'll be the quest grind for me. ohh that V10 is going to be SO tasty.

In vet zones mobs give some XP, but not a lot compared to quests. You'd have to find a pretty decent spot to farm for mob XP to be worthwhile.

You get 42 points per mob (some give more). At level VR4 you need about 1,800,000 for a level. I'd recommend going to the next zone insted of grinding. Quests, world bosses and dark anchors give about 30k-40k. Smaller quests give 3k.

114 exp per Mob on VR8 ... while you Need a tad more than 3,6mio EXP to VR 9.

So they give exp just such a small amount that you dont notice a single kill :)
Finishing Quest Areas, Worldboss Achievements, Dungeon Achievements and so on gives you alot more exp than the Mobs you killed while doing them.

Guess i'll wait before reaching V-rank untill it gets fixed in a more sane manor.
No clue how people can enjoy this.
I just hope this is a temporary solution towards keeping the people away from endgame because they're still working on it.
If not i doubt i can muster the energy/will to even get towards VR10.

Well I dont do the "Public bosses" and some dungeons and I managed to get my Veteran Rank, I also PvP though. They general concept is "One Zone, One rank" however.

Well, actually required is only the Main Quest till you get the Islands done and can Play on the "Continental Zones", else they are blocked (i think, feel free to correct me).

You can lvl through PvP (haha) or just Grind Mobs too... quite alot ppl do this actually. The low exp per Mob adds up when you grind alot of them at once and well .. AE grind.
