What was the worst quest you've ran in ESO?

Any quest with dialog that makes our characters look like a lost child who left their home for the first time. So, most quests?

I would say that JeeLar's quests are the worst for me, since you need to repeat them soo many times to get the achievement. Vomit into some cauldron every day for several months? Running through half of the zone because there are no wayshrines nearby, just to hear same thing every day? Gets really annoying, really fast.

Oh, I forgot about the main profit quest line. I won't go near that one. If I have to listen to that old gaffer drool on once more, I'll go crazy.
I am making a note of all your named bad quests so I can avoid them. There is nothing more depressing than spending time going through one of those drawn out quests only to be left with a feeling were you want to give up gaming.

The Psijic quest. Man that was tedious. And I'm planning on doing it again.

The one you get from orc settlement in western Skyrim under the feet of Druadach mountains if I recall correctly. Probably the first time I engaged in a quest with zero options in dialogue given that also spits on all orc lore given previously to us.

I've done all overland quests with the exception of thieves, brotherhood, and Craglorn (and maybe a rare quest I haven't found but usually end up grabbing it on an alt). That being said, I think the most annoying that come to mind are...
    1) The one in Wrothgar that's part of the main where you have to run the gauntlet timed while npc's try to fight you...I hate anything times
    2) Southern Elsweyr...that questline where you have to attack the blocks to line them up and open doors and stuff. It was just ugh, I found myself frustrated and having no fun.

New Moon Rising. It was perfectly fine until I found out the floating island was crashing in Destroy aeonstone focal points part because Markath update. Just before final fight. So I tried after every maintenance for weeks until the actual fix dropped.

I don't remember big final fight being at all difficult or special when I finally got there in overland stealth harvesting gear armed with a wet noodle (I forgot to switch). But the way there killed any positive feelings I had about Dragonhold DLC.

Edit: the Argonian televanni *** quest was pretty miserable. But rather that than crashing.

I think we have all ran a quest at some time or other that afterwards that left us empty and unimpressed, or to put it plainly, hated it.

I ran one in Summerset called 'Untamed and unleashed'. That had to be the worst quest I have ever ran in ESO. The basics of the quest has you engaging continuously spawning animal's. for a hour. The SAME spawning animals in the SAME positions. To make things worse the quest line/story is really bad and is of zero interest.
I have ran similar but nothing quite so mind numbing.

Same, that quest was awful. When I found out there was a zoo I thought it would be a fun or weird quest, but it was just so boring. The main quest giver, the high elf, was so annoying.

There was another quest in vvardenfell, where you helped someone away from being slave. I played the area on my evil vampire dunmer nb and tried to make the npc remain a slave, but it was impossible. They got away in all cases. You can't evil in this game. And yes, i also let mannimarco freeeeee

Can not remember that quest, not all the quests are very good so probably why I don't remember it.

Now the worst quest I did was probably the one with an female Argonian slave who won her freedom and wanted to become an Televani. Quest was long and intricate, its problem was that you was forced to do lots of things who was from evil to cowardly, forces as the other option was to drop the quest chain and you wanted to see how it ended.

Generally I say the quests in ESO is good but some are not so well thought off. One benefit of newer content is better delve quests.

That telvanni quest line is also what I had in mind and it seems unpopular with most of the people I've talked to about it.

    i love that quest.

the worst one for me was the one in vos where the leader (again a Telvanni) makes you go all across the island to gtaher stones for such a boring and simple payoff with crap reward.

Yeah this one is one of my favorites in Morrowind.

The one quest line that bothers me is what I've taken to call the Wood Elf Trilogy, ie the three Bosmer zones in the AD quest line. They're a tedious slog, with no real variation and as I'm not a mindless Bosmer fan it's just too much. And I hate, hate, hate the Malabal Tor questline. It's just so yucky with the whole forced marriage story that you can't oppose. It's honestly keeping me from playing AD at all, I just hate that storyline so much.
This is the only quest (line) that is so appallingly bad imo that I still recall how much it bothered me.

There are several quests where the player could obviously make different choices based on the information available to them but, due to the linear nature of that quest, can’t.

Those quests get right up my nose. I’ll try to track down the names.

EDIT - Here are three of my worst offenders (at least the ones freshest in my mind):
    The Rift: Scouting the Mine
    Bangkorai: A Marriage in Ruins
    Bangkorai: The Charge of Evermore

All three of these should have alternate options available to what is provided. I ran one character through "Scouting the Mine" and have refused to do that quest on every one of my other 9 characters.

    Quest just outside of Cropsford.
You are expected to poison a goblin that is basically treated as pet by some Breton cook.
You cant even refuse to do so. And worst of all, quest is counted toward cropsford adventurer, so not completing it blocks several Cyrodiil related achievements.

This quest is not only bad for its lack of decision making by the player, but also degrades player to level of lowlife scum.
Same player that saves Nirn from Molag Bal, Dragons, Vampire lords, various other daedric plots...
And that player is expected to poison another man's pet like that.
Whoever made this quest isnt good writer in my book.

This one. I hate quests where they make do horrible things, which my basically good guy would not do, and give you no choice. Done it once, never again, not veen for the achievement.

To be fair, the Argonian Telvanni quest in Sadrith Mora is not a bad quest, by itself.
It has a deeply flawed character at its core who isn't very likable - and she was designed that way. (Except for her name - Sun-in-Shadow sounds cool. :D ) It is kind of the point of the quest line: the Telvanni are not a nice bunch of people.

Ideally, a "good" quest is not one that you would do with every character, in terms of role-playing, unless there are severely different outcomes pre-written into the game. Sun-in-Shadow is one of the more memorable characters in the game - almost everyone who read the vague allusion to this quest in this thread, knew who we were talking about. That makes that quest already stand out against many others.

That quest in Cold Harbour where you have to chase invisible runners whom you can only see briefly after catching some blue floaty thing. Very annoying. Even after doing it several times (it’s part of the main story quest in that area), I keep losing the path and having to start over. I hate that quest!

In the first year, those guys would not wait for you. So, if you aggro'd a mob along the way, then the quest would fail. So I would have to scout the path clearing the way before accepting the quest. Now, at least they wait.

I'd forgotten about that Coldharbour quest. That one frustrated me so much when I first did it, years ago. It's probably one of the reasons why I've never bothered to finish Coldharbour again, along with the fact that the entire zone is just awful. Otherwise, the entire Psijic questline is just plain terrible; doing that one is a drag, and probably one of the most boring things in the game. I've done it several times just for the skills, and I don't think I can stomach doing it again. On a similar note, I'm not likely to do the main quest for both Northern and Southern Elsweyr ever again. The forced mechanics in the dragon fights were just tedious and not even remotely enjoyable.

Well its not that bad imo. But Malabor Tor is a worst AD story zone i agree.
I mean why we have only one 1 altmer zone and 3 for small dudes who drink fermented meat with bugs ( bleh) ? All that tree-hugging ( 3 zones ) is getting old really quick.

Went in to solo a dungeon. Apparently it was a group dungeon. Got the quest.

Weebled my way through it fine up to a point. After clearing a room it said to trigger the pressure plates.

Went back and forth to the plates, but no interaction came up. Finally googled it and found out it Required 2 characters to stand on the plates simultaneously.

    Left and dropped the quest.

    :#

That sounds like Direfrost Keep, and it's (one of) my least favorite quests for a different reason.

The pressure plates aren't a problem if you're in a group, but then the quest requires an extra boss battle that doesn't happen (or drop loot) if you don't have the quest. The result is that not only is the quest un-soloable, but it's also a huge inconvenience for your group if they don't also need the quest.

I've had cases where I needed the quest and my group was in too big a rush to finish the dungeon to help (I think one time I soloed the fight but missed another boss in the process because my group ran ahead, and another time I stuck with the group and had to do the dungeon twice to complete the quest), and other cases where I've just wanted to get through the dungeon and instead had to wait for a dawdler who was doing the quest and also stopped to loot every single piece of junk in the whole dungeon.
