Entering Cyrodiil and once inside (MASSIVE RANT)

Marcus_Brody
I've already put in a ticket regarding this so don't bother with posting information about what to do or any form of help because this is a RANT not a topic requesting help. ZoS will resolve this issue themselves. Anyone deciding to post help anyway, will have their post ignored. No one is going to force help then complain I'm ignoring it.

Too often long time players will purposely troll a new player asking about something and either lie about some tutorial that doesn't exist or that is extremely well hidden, or simply in a place that someone such as myself would not ever do simply because of my play style. Anything is easy once you know how, so long term players are especially top elite trolls who just love to irk players knowing the player has a problem and what they're saying isn't simple or easy to them which is the whole point to this entire topic.

There are entirely way too many trolls in this game, lie, know what I'm saying is facts but will decide to irk people anyway. So I do not trust any information coming from any player in any shape form or fashion because so far everything that I've read people say in this game, has been an outright lie, with their opinion being used as t eh explanation.

If that sounded rude, good, it was meant to be because that's the position I've been driven too in this game by people.

it took me 4 actual hours to get the instructions on how to get into Cyrodiil, nothing is explained on how and people that said the invitation explains how are liars, the invitation only says welcome to PvP and then there is zero information about exactly what to do so those are the elite trolls I was referring to. Everyone full well knows there are no clear easy to follow step by step instructions on how to get into Cyrodiil, And the story constantly changes every time I point out massive flaws in people's statements. First people said press "L"
Saying to press L is saying the keybind for entering Cyrodiil is "L" so pressing L means you get transported into cyrodiil...And we all know that isn't true. So people saying L brings you to Cyrodiil are total trolls.

Then once the screen is opened people act like someone new has any idea what this screen even means. No one new will ever know anything about the interface for L once it's opened because it's not explained at all...it's not even mentioned that the screen that opens up after pressing L is even interactive...I didn't know.

You cannot open a screen and without explaining anything about it, expect someone to mysteriously know all about it or that anything on the screen can even be clicked on. A campaign hasn't even been explained at this point either so no one new will have any idea what select a campaign even means. Those are just a few major and massive problems for someone new trying to get into Cyrodiil

Anyway, fast forward. now I get into Cyrodiil, and it's a maze of a total complex mess. Once again there is nothing explaining what anything is on this entire map, Wayshrines don't work for some reason and no explanation why, and again elite trolls lied and say there is a tutorial when there isn't. and i'm nto interested n any stupid reasoning anyone wants to give on why or who did or didn't have problems..I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR OPINION..THIS ONCE AGAIN IS A RANT (Posting any help is a waste of your time)

For those that want to say there is a tutorial I am going to call you a liar gamers now-adays have zero clue what that word even means.

When I entered Cyrodiil for the first time I expect a pop up on screen text message that says WELCOME TO CYRODIIL, please follow this instruction for getting around..or some other on screen message. Something that anew player will see and know. You cannot hide information or put it in a place that doesn't fit all play-styles. Example I do not run around getting every quest I see from every NPC in any zone..I only keep about 3 quests in my journal at all times, An NPC running up to me with a quest marker is just annoying and I refuse to interact with them regardless.

My point is I have a playstyle I use and it might go against how others play..but that is just straight bad design to hide/bury things in places not everyone will look.

Anyway back to the point, I am now stuck in Cyrodiil in the area below in the black circle as shown in the screenshot below. I don't know what clown on the development team was allowed to construct Cyrodiil in this bad of a fashion but they should have been fired. How this even got out into the actual game is unimaginable..Clearly no one bothered to check on this to see how dumb and idiotic of a design this is. If they had someone like me play testing this, they would see just how bad and idiotic this is. Like many other things in this game, Cyrodiil's Design layout is absolutely abysmal and 100% unusable for a new player like myself. SO with that, here is the map, and I will just have to wait for on 1 help from ZoS...In the mean time my character is stuck and this is idiotic. Any time i try to get out of the area I have circled on the map, I just wind up being blocked by mountains and or walls that cannot be climbed. This is beyond annoying.

The nice thing about rants is that people can still response to them. After sifting through that wall of text (my leather belt gives me a +30 bonus to wall of text resistance, so I survived) I gathered that your issue is just that you got stuck under some geometry.

There are really only two options for anyone stuck: Unstick command, file a CSR/GM ticket. I'm assuming the former did not work for you as you've already escalated to filing a ticket to get unstuck and are now waiting for your character to be moved. As for a tutorial, they may have been referring to the quests that introduce you to cyrodiil you get when you first zone into your home base.

As for navigating around Cyrodiil, there is a normal wayshrine in your factions Home base (Yes...home base...) that ports you in and out of Cyrodiil. Then there is a "Mini" wayshrine that ports you to any keep your faction currently controls. Understand that they are two completely different types of wayshrines.

If this is not new information to you, then I assume Cyrodiil is no longer a maze to you and you can now successfully navigate around it. Hopefully the GM's get you unstuck soon.

Sceens do pop up on your screen to guide you, but you have to read them.
If you missed one, F5 brings up all all your help options. Everythkng is explained there, and yes, there is a quest that walks you through the basics of travel, keep taking, and siege.

Queue for another campaign. That will get you out.

PS, I agree with you that once you are out of combat you should be able to just leave Cyrodiil without having to kill yourself, or fast ravel or whatever. Just with a 10 or 20 second timer that un-stealths you like when wayshrining.

I will admit I have no idea how to cancel out of a que for Cyrodiil. From 2014-2018 I right clicked on the que (I think), and a pop-up message came up asking me if I wanted to abandon it. It was nice, convenient, intuitive, and something I could figure out without an instruction guide.

Now, no idea. Didn't read the patch-note on the 15th page or what not that explained the reasoning why such an intuitive feature was getting changed to something unnecessarily complicated.

Someone explained it to me a couple of months ago, but I forgot and I feel the the OP: even if it's explained to me again, I will forget it again and am left wondering why it's not intuitive to begin with.

Oh gods preserve us... no wonder we're losing this Campaign. It's people like these that have resulted in, NPC's telling you how to complete quests with prompts every 10 seconds , and dumbed down puzzles that are automatically solved when the interact prompt disappears...

Yes, there's all kinds of learning curves in Cyrodiil. How to get from one place to another is one of them. I usually tell the new people about the bottlenecks. Now that we have destructible bottlenecks they are easier to find on the map. On your map, the white icons of gates and bridges are the bottlenecks that you have to travel through if you are not porting. Each area also has one "goat trail" which are shown as a dotted line.

It's also true that some people will troll you if you ask questions. Just ask, "How do I leave Cyrodiil?" and the trolling will be strong, but some of us will whisper or zone chat the person with instructions.

The puzzles aren't really puzzles eh?

3 switches with 3 possibilities to get past some ancient mechanism and no one in Tamriel ever thought to try all 27 possible combinations?

And that's one of the more complicated ones.

The replies people left prove they have absolutely no clue how to read a simple issue.

    1. Stuck behind the walls doesn't mean I cannot move as everyone is implying. All me being stuck behind the walls means is that there is no way over the mountains and walls. I can travel on foot/mount all along the outside of that all along the back. There is no front gate only reason I'm on the backside is because that was the only way through.

    2. Not sure where anyone gets the idea that pop-ups just exist that just automatically show up without doing anything once in cyrodiil but that's false they do not..Which means Anyone making the claim about not reading pop-ups are all 100% lying.

I have a video taken with a brand new character (Level 10 obviously) that shows there is nothing happens onscreen such as a tutorial or pop-ups on the screen that just show up upon entering Cyrodiil for the first time. Unless automatic pop-ups show up just by entering Cyrodiil, then anyone saying someone doesn't read those non-existant pop-ups are just trolls and or lairs.

    3. There is no tutorial as people claim (Again video evidence proves this I entered Cyrodiil).

I could post a video showing this stuff and trolls on this forum would still say it's not true.

In your last board, people were being extremely nice and helpful to you, and because you didn't understand what they were explaining, myself included, you called us names and were rude to us.

Now you preface this board saying you intentionally want to sound more rude, based on your mental state from being angered from confusion from the last time? We tried to help you, we explained things, and you were rude. Now you want to have a rant and be patted on the back with some attaboys and go get em tigers because you simply refuse to listen to others that are helping and you choose the low road not the high road and begin with insults? Yeah.... you're not going to get that.

This is a rant not a nice church gathering or some other civil discussion, nor is it asking for help so what else did you expect, a short little 2 sentence statement praising people with good things to say. If you just read what I posted, then you full well know why I do not want help from anyone in this game..I figured by outlining the issues that lead up to this rant, it would sink into people..yet once again, that gets ignored and people are 1005 baffled by this topic as if they have no clue why I'm just straight up insulting the community after what they did to me and why I do not trust people.

I do not see how people in games become so dumb that when people in a game give people a hard time, that they act like the person doesn't have a right to complain, and what's worse, they ignore what people did to someone and only focus on the reaction as if nothing drove someone to that. Of course I have an attitude, look at why. Blaming the person just causes further problems which people seem to get baffled by on why someone is posting things.

If people weren't trolls in the game, didn't lie, and purposely didn't irk people, then a topic like this wouldn't be outlines the way it is. You gamers act like you can just do and say whatever you want and you act like a person who gets mistreated has no business saying anything and or act baffled by what they're saying.

You all read the issues I had and what happened, so why are you all acting like I'm this way for absolutely no reason at all.

Why is everyone defending the trolls who pull this crap in a game, and especially the ones point blank outright lying about the information regarding the pop-ups?

    ArchMikem wrote: »

It's all good, most players in MMO's are trolls anyway. They say things to spite players and purposely create problems for no reason. I stopped paying attention to what anyone says in zone chat a long time ago.

In fact I usually just shut it off because of all the tripe in it.

I mean take this topic for example, everyone full well knows there is no pop-ups in Cyrodiil a player gets simply just by entering it, and yet people replying in here said there is I just didn't read them.

I could post a video showing nothing happens, and trolls in this topic would still say I didn't read what simply isn't there.

Notice I didn't say those pop-up messages will only show up AFTER the player manually has to do something which proves my entire point of information like that shouldn't be buried and put in based off a very specific play style that requires a very specific order in which to do things.(That was my explanation about taking quests) I dont' run around taking every quest I see or even if a quest giver runs up to me. If tutorials are in quest givers than that is a *** poor design and backs up my entire rant about this is a bad design because there are plenty of players who wont' take quests in an area until they get to know the area and what it's all about.

Elitist trolls refuse to except that as bad design on the developer's end, they instead blame the player because the player isn't playing how the elite troll plays or says to do things.

Wonder if he knows S_Tanner.... The guy who called everyone who told him explained outfits were not motifs and that outfit stations actually exist liars and trolls....anyway....

Unfortunately for some players, reading is involved. When the game was brand new, and my very first character made it to level 10, I followed instructions and got to Cyrodiil. I listened to the npcs who were giving instructions, and found out how to travel around. I managed to NOT miss the huge gates, and walked out of my faction fort to look around. Doors are a thing.

If you really, really need minutely detailed instructions to do anything, this or any other Elder Scrolls game might not be for you. Especially single player Morrowind. You'd lose your mind in that one.
