Title is a typo... DELTIA was a big ESO YouTuber in the early days and definitely had an impact on builds and play styles. There is room for a lot more ESO content creators and the community will call out any BS or toxicity so I wouldn't worry too much. Its good that these big changes are interesting and will hopefully attract others to play and stream the game.

If we're being blunt, Deltia's main claim to fame was being there as early as he was. He had some... "ideas," about builds in ESO that are downright laughable now. To pull two things out of context, he repeatedly argued for a 0/49/0 attribute spec, "because you get more points in health than you do in stamina or magicka, and you can get those stats with enchantments." (We only got 49 attribute points back at launch. It wasn't bumped to 64 until after the level cap hit Vet 16.) Second, he also maintained that Dragon Knights were the only good class in the game, and would demonstrate this by trying to play other classes like DKs, rather than actually playing them, you know, like they were intended to be used.

I'm not sure when he switched to Templars as "the only class worth playing," but when Morrowind reworked sustain, he threw a fit, put up a video conducting a funeral for his Templar and left the game.

At this point, with the entrenched content creators we have now, I'm dubious that he'd be able to carve out a niche today.

Actually in the very early days it WAS better to do health than stamina or magicka because of the soft cap and you can get soft cap in stamina or magicka with gear and glyphs. IF you played then then you'd know this was very popular.

I did play back then. I remember soft caps. I remember the logic behind sinking all 49 points into health, and also that doing so required giving up things like crit because you would sink everything into maxing out your resource pools.

Popular, does not mean coherently thought out. Again, look at the Cloudrest era meta, and you could see plenty of healers running Olo in content where the group was scattered, stam DPS running Rele, even though they weren't focusing individual targets, and letting their stacks drop off, and MagDPS running Siroria, while dancing out of their own buff. Popular doesn't mean it's the right answer, only that it's popular.

(They're good sets, but, I'm slapping them around, because the player does need to know how to use them. A lot of good players do, but they're in the minority. A lot of players run them because, "they're BiS." Hilariously, I actually saw someone running Rele in the ICP during Midyear Mayhem... which... just, why? WHY!? And then I killed them.)

@Alcast is an extremely knowledgeable player. You can learn a lot from him. I'm not a huge fan of his content, but I deeply respect the guy.

@Inklings and @xynode are similiar stories. You watch these guys to learn about the game. They may appeal to you as entertainers, but their main goal is instructing people on how the game functions.

    You watch them to learn.

You watch Bert Ferkins or @Ninja614 because you want to be amused or you enjoy their presentation.

Also, with Ninja and Bert, there's a pretty decent chance you can end up playing with them on stream. This less true with Alcast and Xy, but a lot of streamers do play with their community members. So, why watch Ninja614? Because you might end up running dungeons with him, when he's doing a community night, if you put your name in the pool.

That is pretty much what happened with me in this game since I bought it in 2015. Laid back and up for anything, to telling everyone "nope, go away". Trying to get back to some middle ground.

I'm not laughing either. it's a crappy situation for you, and you've got my sympathies there.
Of course blame the client? Not sure if serious or joking?

Neither, really. I'm blaming the hardware.

I'm not suggesting you get a next-gen console, just that the people I know who have migrated to the PS5 have been very happy with the performance increase.
So, what of all the other players expereincing the same issues across ALL platforms?

PS4 and XB1 are both in a very bad state. PC depends heavily on your system specs. It's not a panacea, obviously, and server connection is an issue. But, yeah, the hardware struggles to keep up with the game. On PC it's a little different, but that has to do with how wide the range of PC hardware gets.
Are you aware of the client/server relationship?

Yep. It's a factor as well.

Look I appreciate the feedback, but you can't be seriously telling me the client hardware I've played on for years is suddenly the problem? Particularly when ZOS has moved more and more checks to the server side?

yeah if they moved most of the checks back to client side, and went with UDp instead of TCP we'd all see a huge performance increase... yeah then it might certainly be time to upgrade my hardware.

Here is a recent podcast of Deltia and company discussing the PvP changes and game enjoyment overall.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahOFIQL_W4w&t=3627s

I liked watching Delia's videos but honestly I feel like his life is better now without ESO and it would be selfish of me to ask him to come back. The game as it is now isn't worth the trouble.

It's his own decision, but i think some of the "promises" he made, i personally wouldn't, i feel like when you promise something to people then they hold you accountable to it, and if the game is not anymore as fun as it used to, then you are gonna be in a situation where you have to decide to either go back on what you previously said, or continue doing something you don't really enjoy, i would keep it simple, just say you are happy to produce content for the game, but don't say things like i am gonna treat this as a job etc... Specifically referring to eso videos.

I wouldn't return to eso anyway honestly, especially as a content creator. At this point this game is hardly worthy of writing home about, the game is kinda stagnant, not growing as much as people say it is.

    https://mmo-population.com/r/elderscrollsonline/stats

Sure the trend is slightly up, but you have to consider 2 things, 1: Greymoor has skyrim marketing, and skyrim was overall the best performing single player tes game, second it happened during covid where all games population has been artificially inflated more than normal, so really these stats aren't really anything to write home about, since about 2017/18, the game has not been growing that much, at least not so much that i would say, wow, especially when we take these things into consideration.

After oblivion we will see what they can pull without this past game nostalgia thing, and at how things are currently going i don't think they will make anything that worthwhile, the way they handled cp basically further cemented what i already believed.

I'm not telling you it's acceptable. A lot of players migrated from XB1 to PC in the last couple years. From what I know it's just a bad situation on the consoles right now. ZOS has been chafing against hardware limitations, and it's just getting worse, as they add new content.

There's a lot of people who've migrated over to PC from XB1, so, you wouldn't be alone, but you would have to start over, which sucks.

I hope they can do something about console performance, but I'm pessimistic about how much they can achieve.

Deltia was THE MAN who taught us early players how to play ESO in his streams.
At that time we knew pretty much nothing about crits, combos etc.
Deltia explained everything nicely and many people owe him.

One reason Deltia left was because ZOS did not fine-balance the game.
Instead ZOS changed mechs with a sledgehammer every few months.
Probably not much has changed since then...

Since then, instead of more skillful play we got even stronger proc sets and Malacath.
Soon we even will get a CRAZY 3600 CP vertical procession on top of it.
Who wants a PvP game which AUTO KILLS people with sets, procs and CP?

I miss the good old times when CP and Procs were LOW and PVP WAS MASSIVE.
Nowadays everything is the opposite - Procs and CP are HUGE but PVP IS SMALL SCALE.

so much this, lot of disrespect towards deltia here, quite baffling

he is the one, the front of ESO content creator back then, you might disagree with his build (me as well), but give the guy a slack

and also, he probably don't have much of a voice in ZoS like you guys think, probably some of you overreacting a bit here

its good his back, his a good content creator, with lot of energy and quite fun to watch

Deltia is obviously a good gamer. He is also good at showing interesting builds. Most likely people that alternative, but functional, character builds will get a lot of mileage from his content. I think people coming back after a long break in particular will get something from his content, since that is the situation Deltia finds himself in.

Not sure why there is so much salt being thrown around about Deltia here.

If you didn't follow him before and didn't play with him before, there is little point to making an argument that you know what he is (or isn't) worth to the game now, let alone to the community he helped build here.

I am glad to see any player with his level of skill return to the game and contribute content that is accessible and viable for players of all types, something the BIS only build creators seem to have long since forgotten how to do.

I miss Kevduit alot! He was hilarious and he does pop in to ESO once in while for comedy.

I'd heard of Deltia from some game friends who gamed with him in the dawn of ESO and had mad respect for him. I watched him once and subscribed immediately. He's got a similar vibe to Bislobo in that hes enthusiastic, positive and obviously enjoying everything. I's pretty refreshing.
