I was browsing the store and noticed crown crates missing. Googeling around a bit I found out that this is because I live in Belgium and loot crates are against the law here. However this makes me wonder..how are we ment to get crown crate items then? How are we ment to get apex crystals? Why has there been no solution from zos for us? It seems a bit unfair we are being denied so many things..

Looks like you can only get free crown crates through promotions etc. If loot crates are against your country's laws I'm not sure what you want ZOS to do about that. It does suck that you don't have the same freedom to buy them as in other countries, but that's your government trying to protect you from gambling and it's not ZOS' fault.
The streams don't work for most people anyway, trust me you're NOT missing that much.
The chapter part is a bummer, but it is a small thing in the grand mess of goodies you get.

What's wrong with streams? I've seen several reports from people who had problems, but not that much, and never had any problems personally.

I dunno how to explain it but they flat out just didn't work for a lot of folks. Or the site to link your account was down the whole day when the stream was supposed to happen. Or the timer wasn't ticking for some unknown reason despite being logged in and having accepted your current gift. I was lucky to get the frog and one crate but that was it.

This should be standard anyway. All they would have to do make them obtainable by in game means is to give radiants a gem value. Since you can buy crowns for gold, now.etchedpixels wrote: »The Microsoft take over may also change some things. Their Xbox studios policy for example would require a whole pile of changes to ESO lootbox behaviour, including all items in loot boxes being obtainable via game play and published odds for categories.

You only think so as long as gambling addiction (or any kind of addiction) is some abstract crap that happens to some abstract other people you don't know. On the other had, when did prohibiting something ever actually work?
I'm certainly glad some people have governments dictating to them, "protecting" them from themselves and making sure they don't have 'choices' because choices is bad apparently.
I was raised with the belief that people are responsible for themselves and their own actions and freedom of choice is worth fighting and dying for. Sad how some countries are going backwards and slowly becoming more totalitarian and people just letting it happen.

There is gambling everywhere, so this isn't a good reason at all. There is even gambling in the game with raffles. Outside of the game you have gambling advertised everywhere some of it ran by the government themselves. Here in the US, my state's lottery system is 10X more obvious than crown crates. Its advertised everywhere and gas stations and grocery stores is right in your face often at checkout when you got that wallet open. You can even play online.
So that argument of gambling addicts just doesn't work. It would be the same as saying we should not build anything more than 1 story high including bridges because of people with Acrophobia( fear of heights). My wife has this pretty bad and has to be careful what she does. It would be unreasonable for her to expect everyone else to accommodate her. That would be like the ask here. But we know it's not really about that.
The loot crate argument isn't about gambling addicts, it's about people who want radiants but don't want to do a chance system for them. They want them to have a defined price tag so they can decide if it's worth it or not and so they can save for the ones they really want.
This use to be the big argument but it's not as strong of an argument now because you can buy crown crates for gold. That should satisfy most countries restrictions on them. I do think they should just put a gem price on radiant mounts. They would get a lot less pushback on it and i think very few people care at this point how many people have radiant mount X.
2000 or 2400 crown gems for a radiant apex and a better system for trading crowns for gold would make it better for everyone.

Gambling is just one subject.. in my country we have some really annoying knife laws, race laws and stuff like that.. and always because some people can't control themselves, so they make harsher laws.. but that ruins it for the people who CAN control themselves and behave.. I have no issue stopping myself from spending my entire salary.. but because some person has no spine, I am not allowed this treat AT ALL.? Thx for ruining my fun
