Starting > Bosmer. I thought those are good old Tolkien's Wood Elves. Oh, how wrong I was. >:)

Now > Dunmer ofc! Resdayniil kan tarcel!

P.S. And honestly, some races are getting tons of cool armours and story zones like Dunmer (they are even going to be BiS stamina race next patch :D) while others like Bosmer don't even have 3 dedicated motifs and their zones are so outdated...

I started with argonian, because i loved them from oblivion dark brotherhood shadowscale) and skyrim

Over years i dont care about minmaxing and i still play as argonian. Because why should i play as human? Thats real life, right? I dont like how elves are arrogant (though i play them in other games like dragon age or warhammer) i hate cats even irl and i dont like orcs (trolls)

So i have all my characters argonians :)

I started as a Breton in TES IV. I wanted to be a human mage so that race seemed to fit.
I tried most of the races and think I eventually liked Bosmers and the archery combat the most.

Today I think my favourite races are the Argonians, because I find the Hist to be a very interesting topic, and the Dwemer because they are generally always fun to learn more about.

My favorite race at the start was Altmer so I started playing an Altmer magsorc back in 2014.
I while back I changed the race of my main to Breton because I focused more on tanking at that time.
With the upcoming update I will probably change my main back to Altmer or maybe Dunmer.

    PC - EU (AD)
    Septimus Mezar - Altmer Sorcerer
    Septimus Rulanir - Orsimer Templar
    Septimus Desmoru - Khajiit Necromancer
Septimus Iroh - Dunmer Dragon Knight
    Septimus Thragar - Dunmer Nightblade
    Septimus Jah'zar - Khajiit Nightblade
    Septimus Nerox - Redguard Warden
    Septimus Ozurk - Orsimer Sorcerer

(With order I played games, chronologically):

    - TES III - Argonian
    - TES IV - Argonian
    - TES II - Argonian
    - TES I - Argonian
    - TES V - Argonian
    - ESO - Argonian

Granted I played other races too, but my main playthrough, once I played Morrowind was an Argonian. And yes, even if Argonians had no racial passives or even a stat penalty my main would probably still be one - just for esthetics.

    I like extra - challenge ;)

I played Wood Elf and Khajiit pretty much in all TES games prior to ESO. In ESO my first and favourite is Khajiit. I have come to love Dunmer culture (minus the slavery) in ESO but Khajiit is still my favourite. I like all the races lore and culture pretty much.

My main favorite was and still is Khajiit, but I also like argonians! Which I never gave much thought before, but seeing their culture more (something you don't get to see in Skyrim or any other TES game) they've really grown on me.
    Hoping for more playable races

At the start I think I enjoyed playing Argonian, Khajiit and Bosmer. Since then, I have come to love the Dunmer and Redguards as well. In truth, I don't dislike any of them. I currently play Bosmer and Dunmer.

It's hard for me to pick a favourite because I love the cultural variety too much. I don't make puerile decisions based on looks.

I started with Morrowind and even though there is of course much to dislike about Dunmer, they are so unique and fascinating and varied! As far as I know, the other races have more or less a single archetype, but with the Dunmer you have one for each House and then the Ashlanders. So they were and I miss having a gruff voiced Dunmer sneer “Outlander” at me!

I never got as into TES IV or V so neither really changed my opinion of any race. ESO has increased my appreciation of several, including Khajiit and Orsimer (Orsinium was so well written) and I have always loved elves, and although I enjoy the AD storyline and the beauty of the lands, I do wish that the Altmer were presented with more nuance.

Before eso played 3, 4, and 5. Argonians, dark elves, nords, bretons, wood elf, imperial, orcs, high elves, redguard, and khajit.

After eso. Argonians, dark elves, nords, high elves, imperial, khajit, orcs, wood elf, bretons, redguard. This game really made me dislike lots of races I used to like. On the flip side it made me like high elves and Khajiit.

I was just thinking how much I liked the high elves starting Skyrim maybe 3-4 years ago, because I loved sparkly magic and elves and that was it really. Over time...they gradually became one of my least favourite races.
Learning about the lore/cultures and going off their homelands I think Bretons and Argonians are my favourites at the moment.
What did you start off with and what did you end up with?
I also started as a high elf... I just loved the concept from LotR etc... But after playing through all their zones and realising how awful they are, I swapped over to Imperials. I had started adopting the Altmer way of thinking (men are inferior, they don't deserve to live etc), which was making me lose myself... Imperials are clearly the victim in ESO (despite the many Imperial villains we got) so I prefer that.
