Do you think the nerf to Axe's Twin Blade and Blunt Bleed is too much?

And by nerf they completely removed the bleed effect and replaced it with 2% crit damage per axe.

Right now, in a full 21M parse on the trial dummy, the bleed roughly will account for 6% damage (~5K DPS). I highly doubt the new changes to axe would be anywhere close to this damage. Any thoughts?

yes, and I'm not sure I like the flat "all damage" increase from swords being removed (kinda sorts worked for a hybrid).

Now every melee weapon works for hybrid builds. I do not see any reason to complain from that perspective, espcially since mag/hybrids can now use maces/mauls.

At least for 2H: "Swords now grant 142/284Weapon and Spell Damage, rather than increasing Damage Done by 3/6%"

They are still hybrid AND they affect heals now.

Isn't like 4% per axe? I might be wrong tho

And the passive quite helps crit pvp build with 2h, you can compensate the lack of a crit choice like daggers by using 2h axe and crit chance mundus (instead of 2 daggers and the crit dmg one)

But ye, doesn't look that good in pve (neither in pvp since they nerfed crit chance which was already not the best option)

I wonder what the breakdown is between the weap/spell damage gains vice the old flat dmg bonus? yeah, good point about the heals tho. I just wish for aesthetics It didn't have to be the 2h, and I could run dual swords (daggers).

Yes, because we need bleeds to counter block/immortal builds.

Status effects now cause bleeds to bleed essentially. So the missing dot is still there if you run a bleed on your build...

My guess is that it will be the same for 1H swords they just got the description wrong. Two 1H swords will total 284 damage.

Will be interesting. My stamcro will get 1284 spell damage from the flat 1K they are adding and 2H sword....that is a hefty boost to healing on my Spirit Guardian.

Axes definitely seem under-tuned at the moment.

Hopefully they can catch a slight buff before the patch goes up.

They probably need to be in the neighborhood of +7-8% Critical Damage each in order to compete with Daggers in PvE, especially given the recent nerfs to Critical Chance.

Well, depends, you have to use a bleed skill or set now, vs equipping an axe or two, you also lose the ability to have both 2h and dw bleed.

Furthermore, you could obtain that valuable axe bleed using only one axe, freeing you up to use a dagger in the off-hand.

Now there is no such value in mixing weapon types and the axe falls even further behind.

Hmm I dunno the math for pve, but I assume ppl will want daggers after all the crit chance nerfs.
In pvp I can see some case for and axe or two, altho crit builds in general are falling further behind the meta come next patch.
If they added some base crit chance to battle spirit, then axes would get more desirable.

This is outdated when bleeds are no longer "ignore resistance," this was changed awhile ago. Same thing with Oblivion damage is reduced marginally by resistances.
