So I watched a video of a person spewing real life racism in game. Someone got annoyed went and killed him in pvp, said this person is still playing in 2021 and the video was from 2020. So because the game has fantasy racism you don't ban real racists? I think I learned all I need to, any other game I played since EQ in 1999 would ban people like that.

I don’t think it’s “racism”, rather I think the combat team has good ideas for about four races and they just phoned the rest in. The racials in many cases seem to come out of nowhere, like they don’t have any reference or lore notes about what they should or could be. The fact that some of the races are still passable in some roles feels a bit like blind luck.

They have had two years to work on these racials.

They took a big swing on cp, they could not take a big swing on how racials are done as well? Was there not enough time?

I mean I really want to believe that, but the fact with everything that's happened. It's just I just started around 2018 and I wasn't sure if it was always a thing on here. It's just how a lot of this game seems to have things from real life compared to other games and MMORPGS. I mean I've seen some pretty vile people crawl out of the woodwork in recent years. I know people may be just joking but, stop and think about how this game is more realistic in some ways. I mean when you see the same names in threads saying the same crap over and over and over, you question those people. I mean yeah it's in all the TES games, but NPC's are programmed for it. You throw real people in, and see how they act. I never seen it before on any other online game at least that I have played. It's just the combination of everything and put together. I mean when you see it in every section or every thread about that race, all outside the RP section. I mean what are you supposed to think these days. You can't tell if they just don't realize it or they are just that indecent, feels like we are going backwards in time here. I usually don't go off this much, but I've never been shocked before. It's just all so surreal, I just fail to believe people are that ignorant. This game has like real life racism compared to other games. I mean if people seriously can't see real life in the Dunmer and Argonians. Yet they still think it's funny, or cool, and worse. I mean what are you supposed to think about those people. I mean these forums it's literally overwhelmingly focused on one race. Like I said that with everything going on, that's why I think the worst of those people. I mean if Redguard is indeed at the bottom with Argonian, I mean they both went through the same thing. Real life and in game, how the hell did that happen. That's just so bad looking, they are at the bottom and the most racist races are at the top. I just hope everyone understands where I'm coming from, I honestly never seen people act like this on MMORPGS before that can't seem to think before they spew garbage.

@Koronach Just want to point out that there is plenty of stuff like that in other games too. Just look at WoW and how people view Worgens. I don't know much about the game and the community, but if I as an outsider take notice of that, then it must be somewhat widespread.
But I also feel like a lot of that in the Elder Scrolls is just banter and not meant to be taken seriously. "Hippity Hoppity, Argonians are property" or calling them "handbags" or "shoes" while Khajiit are called "rugs", Orcs are called "pigs" or "poop elves", Wood Elves are called "hippies", "treehuggers" or "cannibals" and High and Dark Elves are called "knife ears", "racist" "cowardly" or "uppity" or even the 4 letter word for a racist person - all these races have not so nice names to call them by. It's not just Argonians.
The human races are the only ones where you don't hear any banter like that because that's where lines are easily crossed and most people understand that and refrain from it.

So it's often just kind of a mutual banter type of thing. These people are immitating the NPCs not because they can use it as an outlet for their own latent racism but because a little bit of competitiveness like that can be fun. Of course there are always people who take it too far or others who can't take a joke.

Getting back to the topic of the thread though, ZOS certainly does not have an agenda against any of the playable races. If you remember, Argonians were considered the strongest race in PvP and tanks before Wrathstone when their potion passive was changed from restoring a percentage to flat values. Of course they were nerfed, but it was also really needed. They just overdid it with the nerf, as ZOS often does. So no agenda to be found here, just the usual issues.
