This game is already rated 18+, the revealing looks can not ever be an argument (as the examples above already illustrate). Just fix the damned thing already, farming it was horrible enough. :x

The game is rated M by the ESRB in the US. That’s 17+, so minors are an intended audience.

ESRB ratings are also not legally binding, and the TOS specifically allow for legal minors as young as 16 to have accounts in their own names with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Yeah, they change stuff all the time.

They modified the Singing Skald costume after less forum backlash than Timbercrow receives, even after people had paid for it with crowns. And with this being a no cash out of pocket item, you'd think they'd be more willing to actually listen to the community and make improvements.

Maybe they won't fix it because it's not a Crown purchase.
I'm wondering if they're going to fix the issue with characters getting stuck in the Psijic Villa now that it's for sale for Crowns.

A long time ago, there was an outfit called a "Metal Bikini."
There was no diaper or underwear showing.

And we all know, There is no underwear in space.

    So why in ESO?

This reminds me of that damn undyeable gold trim on the Nocturnal Shrike outfit. Still a little pissed about that, 2+ years later.

I can't help but feel like they do this sort of thing on purpose... It really seems like the artist nails an aesthetic, then someone along the way makes that one obviously terrible decision that just-shy-of-ruins the whole thing. Happens kind of a lot.

"Jenkins! Make something nice, but not too nice... Gotta keep those Crown Store suckers looking for the "perfect" outfit that will never come! mwahahahaha"

Almalexia's costume is far more "revealing." ZOS has already demonstrated their tolerance for gluteal display [snip]

It's usually the opposite. If someone liked their bald headed Skald costume, and ZOS modified it after the fact, then the customer complains based on the fact that they paid cash for something and 'now it's ruined, give me my money back,' etc. If it's an in game only reward, like Timbercrow, then they may be more willing to change things about it, because it essentially didn't cost you anything (tangible) to acquire it.

Couldn't the back flap of the skirt just be larger to cover the whole backside. As it is, it looks incomplete. I'm sure that would be a simple fix and much better than what we have right now.

Then there is still a problem with jumping - we see things that we shouldn't or don't want to see.

It's something one can determine for themselves. I wouldn't imagine a screenshot would stay up for very long, so it's up to the individual to verify.

When it comes to obstacles, it's more of a problem for the male characters in this skirt - not that they get stuck with any parts...

Cyberpunk, a game with... explicit scenes... is also rated M.

I haven’t played that myself. But I do know the PC version of Oblivion initially allowed the player to use a mod to reveal base game unclothed skin textures, which (in addition to previously unreviewed elements of gore) led to the ESRB rerating it M post-release (but not AO - Adult Only, 18+) in place of the initial T (13+). I remember being carded when I bought that game because the retailer decided to enforce the 17+ rating, but they weren’t legally obligated to do so.

I’m not arguing that the Timbercrow costume would necessarily be too explicit for a 17+ rating with the underwear removed. I think the picture of Almalexia shows that visuals like that can exist in game. I do wonder, though, if the flaps of the costume having physics when the player jumps constitutes a substantive point of difference with the Almalexia model. I don’t recall her jumping up and down leaving her flaps hanging in the wind, at least... Well, narrower underwear could fix that anyhow.

At any rate, my point was that the game is not rated 18+ in at least one of its biggest markets.

Yeah... It's about time ESO actually goes rated 16 years (R15? MA-15? I don't really know the proper rating) at least a bit more. Not saying nudity (though this would be fun in capital cities  ) but... y'know what I mean, as it is ESO is for like... 12, maybe 14?

I spent 2 million gold. It's a nice outfit. Needs a bit of "labor of love" still.

Perhaps the artist's supervisor should speak up on why it's like that so we don't have to jump to conclusions anymore.

Because I really don't think he/she deserves this flak any longer.

It’s not like we know who designed it and I’m assuming it wasn’t an artist’s decision but rather a modesty epic fail. If the costume was someone’s labor of love then I am sad for them that it was ruined like this. I know it’s work they’re getting paid for but still, I can imagine how I would feel. :disappointed:

2 million gold?! Maybe I should grind for this costume for resale... There doesn’t appear to be much one can spend these merits on anyway.

I just feel like it's half ass. Literally.

As much as I would love to work for a gaming company. Right now, in 2021, I'd much rather starve, then let the general public direct my work.

Funny how they almost feel proud that almost all decisions are final in the art department.

The worse is that they're almost a year ahead in production.

But 5 years behind on quality.
    That's it, that's all.
