When consoles launched, players were able to have their accounts moved because they were initializing the backend data. Their accounts were prepopulated. I am not aware of them ever transferring an account to a live system.

It's just seems like good business for zos to do so? Even if it came with a processing fee. You should not be chained to any given platform. If I were to switch from console to pc and lose my character, achievements, motif knowledge base etc, . I simply would not continue with eso if I had to do it all again. It would be soul crushing to have to start fresh.

EDIT: some mentioned housing OMG yes! I would never want to revisit having to rebuild the many homes I've fully furnished from square one. Nope I'd just walk away.

yes. I dont see why crowns get transferred across servers but not things you've brought with said crowns.

It would be nice if this occurred in ALL MMOs... many people start on console and later realize that PC offers more benefits and graphics and want to change... but have already invested too heavily (both time and $$) in their initial platform. Coming back, I thought about switching to console since I was already playing BDO on console... and then realize how much I really invested in my PC account and... the addons; the thought of playing ESO without addons was unthinkable!! ;)

I would like to know what you think. If you wish you can comment on whether or not you think ZOS can pull such a thing off. But please vote on if you think players should be able to transfer their characters, progress, unlockables, and purchases to their own account on other platforms.

Zos did this back when console came out, but said it won't happen again. Not sure if they will ever change their minds unless eso was to ever go to crossplay, which is highly unlikely unless mods are allowed on console or banned from pc. Like that will ever happen right? I have my original account on pc but tranfered to console when they had the offer. The only thing I would love to see is that each account stay updated with each other. My pc account is so far behind I would never play it again.

One thing I enjoyed about fortnite is no matter what system I played it on, all my stuff was still there... Nintendo switch, xbox, PC, mobile... great stuff

Not opposed to console players being able to make the switch to PC if they desire as an exception but it should not be a frequent back and forth with some kind of token you can buy in the crown store pick one platform and stick with it.

Why shouldn't it be a token and a repeatable process? ...I mean...I'd only do it once but I don't see why it would be a bad thing for someone to be able to transfer back and fourth after its been made into a paid automated service. Heck, the idea of people doing such a thing would be an even better incentive for ZOS to make this possible.

Because the value of items is wildly different between PC and paystation. So people would be going back and forth like yoyos making a ton on arbitrage including the actual cost of gold to crowns to cover the token.

Yes but it will never happen because for example why would Microsoft want someone switching to Sony and therefore taking a player away from Xbox and losing money as well as making money for PlayStation.

My guess is many more people would move from console to PC than the other way around; so Microsoft wouldn't lose much if anything.
I've got a PS5 and I'd still pay to copy my account to my PC. Once I finally get a 3080 and drop it in my PC build I'd be able to max out every graphics setting and still get 120fps to fully take advantage of my TV's 2.1 HDMI.
From what I've seen of other PS5 game upgrades so far the ESO upgrade will most likely be able to run with the maximum PC settings but it will be locked at 60fps to do so.

Unless ZOS throws out the databases that underlie this game, replaces that with a new data base system and reset everyone's progress to 0, then it does not matter if they should allow cross platform or cross server play.

It simply cannot be done with the game in it's current state.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
