Craglorn region is underrated

It was even better back when it was an adventure zone, basically veteran overland: the zone where grouping was practically required. Killing it and turning it into "just another zone you can complete, if you want" is one of the many reasons why I despise the One Tamriel update.

The original plan for Murkmire was to turn it into a second adventure zone, shame it didn't turn out that way.

I loved my time soloing my way through craglorn. I was still learning the ropes and working out my build. I died a lot but I finally nailed light attack weaving.

I enjoyed the way the story was told in indirect ways. I liked how open and rolling the map was. It felt a lot more open world than other zones to me.

I completely agree that it's an awesome zone. I wish more zones were like it.

On the other hand, for players who don't solo world bosses wearing a bath towel and using a spoon, Craglorn is a pain.

If it wasn't for nirncrux I wouldn't go there. Story might be great, but the "everything attacks in hordes" gets old fast. Once it gets to 8 or more enemies at a time, and you can't thin out groups because the whole mob Aggros, it stops being fun and becomes work.

bad players conflating anyone that is mildly competent at the game with Dark Souls hardcore challenge runners gets old really fast too

Ehh more like it's hard to find groups for such activities. People who value their time don't sit in general chat spamming lfg for hours. Not everyone has loads of free time.

Craglorn was a good experiment of why hard mode overland doesn’t work. Most players skip it or won’t bother. At least now area soloable.

there were other problems besides difficulty

come on, it's one thing to be difficult for a single player it is another when it practically forces you to group up with others and at the time the reward system was really bad.

Again people asking for harder overland are NOT asking for Craglorn, have some nuance

Craglorn was basically the idea of a Group Dungeon as a Zone - didn't work
So they scaled things to be more like a Public Dungeon

at least they tried and learned from it

When I first started playing the game, a friend introduced me to the mind-blowing concept that you could port to people and DISCOVER NEW PLACES! Well, wayshrines. And travel to objectives.
But I wanted to EXPLORE! The game was shiny and new, I was just level 50, maybe CP 40 or so, when I ported to Craglorn.
And it hit me like a truck. Everything hurt. I got lost, died, died again.
Went crawling home with my tail between my legs, and it was almost a year before I was coaxed back in by a friend lol

I'd be happy with more group delves and (cannot emphasize this enough) Hard Arena, Dungeon, or Trial versions of Main Story Bosses

I didn’t say I soloed the group dungeons to brag, I stood around in zone chat “lfm...” until I got bored and tired and just did it myself, over and over until I got better and finally got through.

It took me years to get all the content done.

That’s why I say that a 1/10 chance of getting a style page that probably everyone already has and the obligatory 115 gold or whatever is not enough to get people to help.

I wanted to do the content to finish the story but no one wanted to help me.

So that most people ignore it just like craglorn except for few ovegeared 1k+ CP leets who love to brag how they soloed group content. Sounds like a great strategy

I have done the story on 16 characters and plan to do it on the last 2.

The anomalies are a pain to get done because you need them for the quest.
As people mentioned, its hard to get people to do them.

I LOVE Shada's Tear.....it is my favorite mini dungeon in Craglorn. I also enjoy doing all the Skyreach dungeons and Warriors School but again you cant get anyone to do them.

I think the reasons are some of them are kind of long and the loot is really lackluster even with the chance at the Akaviri motifs in the coffers. Its really sad because Shada's Tear is IMO one of the best mini dungeons in the game.
They should have made them into full dungeons and have pledges for them or something.
