In all honesty some people on the forums wonder why we haven't seen any new PVP content since IC and BGs? IMO its probably because of the few bad apples. Granted PVE players are not innocent here, there is toxicity on that side too, i just think that its more visible in the PVP world.
[snip] but it doesn't really give you a right to start insulting us, and insisting we must have no life. just cos you came to pvp during mid year mayhem, and dont understand the way things are done in cyrodill, doesn't justify insulting us on the forums [snip]
I'm not being funny, but mid year mayhem seems to be the event drags a lot of toxic pve players in to pvp who then resort to insults and bullying just cos they don't like pvp.

Never saw a PvPer that ever considered a PvE [snip] as anything more than a nuisance.
I'm guessing you've not seen the forums posts insinutating that if you play pvp you must either not have a life or be sick in the head. dont see why they feel the need to go and post things like that just because tehy dont like that we have a pvp event
I have seen them and honestly laugh. Though I believe these days EVERYONE needs to thicken up their skin a bit. People these days equate words with real harm and that just is not so, especially the meaningless prattle that spouts from those with no power or authority over you.
Wise words.
Words used by sociopaths to justify abuse and dodge responsibility for the consequences of their harmful behavior. And abusive words are indeed harmful behavior.
Apologies - I've seen this mentality give a free pass to abusers far, far too often in the waking world. While the consequences are not usually as severe in virtual environments, they can be. I've seen that too.
Better wise words is "be kind to one another."

The IC event requires doing the daily quests in a PvPvE zone, and I'm not comfortable with the cheese method of standing on the Arena District and killing dremora from the spawn point. (Though if you hate PVP, go for it!) So early one morning, I went to the Nobles District and started laying ogrim traps.
I was on my PVE sprinter build. This lets me zip past mobs and outrun the Xivkyn and Atronachs that otherwise I'd have to stop and fight. Its great! Its also very, very squishy - like 16k health in medium armor. I am the definition of "fragile speedster."
So I'm on my last ogrim trap and heading to the far side of the district when I see two enemy players capturing the district flag. That's a pretty good sign that these are PVPers or at least experienced Tel Var farmers...and I decide "Maybe I can sprint past them to get to my trap spot."
Haha, haha, I got deleted.
I rez up, drop down, and because the shortest way to my destination in a straight line, I make a beeline right in front of the flag again, which the two enemy players are turning.
*Boom* dead again.
As I'm laying facedown on the district pavement, I realize that one of the players who killed me has a funny name - a punny play on Wardens. So I whisper them to compliment them on their name.
I was thanked for not being toxic about them killing me while I was questing. Profusely thanked. Like, we whispered each other for a couple minutes. While I was there for the event tickets, there were there for the double Tel Var. They weren't hunting questers, just two friends running around a PVPvE zone hoping to make some Tel Var and fighting players as they came across them. And yet many of the players they killed were salty and toxic about being killed.
I was taken aback. Here were two players PVPing exactly as intended, taking part in the event. No, more than that, here were two players PVPing in about the most noncontroversial way there is, and they were meeting enough players being toxic about dying while they quested that they thanked me for not being toxic.
I don't get it.
Imperial City is a PvPvE zone.
I understand being annoyed when you die. I'm no saint. I get annoyed.
What I do not understand is being toxic to players who are playing as ZOS intends and allows after the fully intended and expected PVP happened in a PvPvE zone.
"I'm questing for my event tickets" is neither a safe conduct in PvPvE zones nor an excuse to be toxic when you die.

I do end game PVE and some light PVP on the same toon. EP, PS4 NA. I've been doing PVP long enough to reach Sergeant. I've done a few battlegrounds. Here are my observations:
- I usually win battlegrounds
- I usually get slaughtered in Cyrodiil and IC
- I have received and sent 0 hate whispers
- I have observed one instance of tea-bagging in EP
- I have observed no tea-bagging in AD
- I have lost count of how many DC players I've seen tea-bagging since just the start of this MYM
- I have seen many instances of spawn camping and player farming in DC, not so much in other alliances
- I can't really tell who the PVPers and PVEers are, outside of recognzing some gimmick builds
There's probably a study on player toxicity in there, but I don't have enough data.

Also ps4 NA and very much agree about DC's behavior. Idk what it is about their whole alliance, but they're always the most aggressive and rude players I encounter. AD and EP are both pretty chill though there seems to be more tryhard players in EP whereas AD is kinda wimpy but we try lol.
