Given the CP changes, why can't we make PTS template characters at CP3600?

If the purpose of the PTS is to test how changes affect builds, then surely we should be allowed to make template characters at max CP? I'm aware DPS is down on PTS due to the way dummies are bugged out currently, but even with that being fixed testing will be impossible since DPS numbers will be marred by 'this would be some unpredictable amount more if I was CP1700'.

Are we supposed to grind to CP1700 on PTS? pls no. Perhaps at least is there a way for us have our live CPs on PTS?

I think they don't care too much about the very high levels of CP.
Live will show those issues and they will address it in the next update.

What they need to know now is how will 810ish CP look, and when you look at the forum, the people who care most right now are the 810cp-ish players who are at max on live and won't be when this update comes out.

CP 3600 is not a realistic expectation, and content in the game should not be designed as if CP 3600 was the standard.

Imagine if Houses costed ten billion gold because the leaders of biggest trade guilds have a lot of money. Or if the map was made ten times larger because a lot of people have maxed out mounts.

3600 may not be necessary, but something like 1800 would be quite useful for testing how the various stars interact
and how the overall power curve scales.

i think its crucial for testing that we have a max CP template so we can accuratly find where the vertical progression stops and the horizontal progression proccs in by just changing the allocated CPs.

because just from reading the patchnotes in dont believe its as big of an impact beeing 1200 versus 1800 versus 2700 and so on. but without 3600 template we can only speculate about where the line is.
wether 3600 CP is realistic on live or not, its for testing purposes

    ^ This. 100%.

Based on seeing the perks, vertical progression continues up to around 2900 cp. This is the stage where players have 4 maxed out slotted perks, and have reached all their passive bonuses. It would really be important to see a player with 0 CP, 810 CP and 2900 CP to duel each other for example, or to create a 0cp trial group and a 810cp trial group and a 3600cp trial group and try to time HMs.

Because vague hypothetical assurances that vertical progression will stop around 1200, and that content is 'still doable' do nothing to address the impact that the new CP system has compared to Live values, and the impact it has between 0 cp and maxCP players (which is going to be a lot more grinding apart from 0-3600 instead of 0-810).

I mean, that's basically how they've been balancing dungeons and trials for the last few years.

"Well, Alcast can clear it so it can't be too hard."

Meanwhile most players can't even get into a prog group, and have basically no hope of ever completing endgame content because it's all been tuned to pose a challenge to a handful of elite players.

Exactly. And I think the devs have realized this too.

Hence why there's so many attempts to raise the floor and lower the ceiling, lately. Like the increased health and damage, and champion point slot bar, respectively.

I do think that testing values like 1500-1700 could be worthwhile, though.
