Buying a Pre Owned Game of TES

I tried a search for this but gave up after viewing 10 pages.

What is ZOS's policy on this?

I have noticed the physical game available on auction sites and was wondering If I would be able to create an account with a code that has been previously used.

A definitive answer would be appreciated.

If the previous owner of a game key hasn't used it, then technically they haven't agreed to any terms and conditions. The policy wouldn't apply to them. It would only apply to you once you create an account and apply the game code.

It's still a case of buyer beware, though -- ensure you trust the seller hasn't actually used it and just re-wrapped if it's a physical copy.

If you want a definitive answer, the forums probably aren't the way to go. Raise a ticket with Support to get something more official.

If the physical game has been opened, there would be very little reason to buy it. I'd assume the code had already been used and you'd be paying for a new code anyway. The ability to download from the disc may or may not even still function so you don't really get a benefit that way either.

With online games like MMOs, the install from the disc is nearly useless once you're far enough past it's release time. Enough patches & changes have happened that you'll practically be downloading the whole thing anyway.

I'm not sure how it works on consoles if you would need the disc for download if it was a sealed copy. What it actually downloads might not matter but I thought there might be some reason the disc would still be required in the console to start the game.

If you are trying to ask if you can buy someone's account, without actually using those words. No, you can not buy someone's else account.
