PvP Expansion Idea

No game is perfect for everyone but I was thinking that there could be a way to expand PvP a bit to the PvE areas. Here are my thoughts.

1. There would be a duplicate world that is open PvP everwhere so PvP folks can do their leveling and all the overland quests and such in a PvP enabled world. Same servers, different zones maybe. Kind of like what they do when there are too many folks in a zone the servers just spin up a new instance.

2. All housing, battlegrounds, dungeons and trials would remain the same. No need to change there. So from PvP and PvE everyone would enter the same queues. Basically you walk up to the sewers or whatever dungeon door in either world and you go to the same ones with folks from both PvE and PvP worlds. When you exit the area, you go back to where you came from or maybe based on some sort of PvP enabled flag.

3. Folks could choose to play in either PvE or PvP ESO at anytime. Wether your friends are in the PvE or PvP world, you could see them online. Say you join a group with them, then you can port to the leaders world and start doing quests or what have you together. If you want to Raz save the Queen while being chased around by other players then you can, but if you tire of it then you unflag PvP and return to the PvE instance. I would also go as far as to say that the only safe place is death, a respawn point or your house. Make it interesting.

4. There could also be a new PvE Cyro available. Maybe its slightly changed, like a post war Cyro that is rebuilding or something and then they can add more PvE quests to it. More game expansion possibilities. However, in the PvE Cryo, you can't gain AP or anything related to PvP Cyro. This could be the same for Imperial City as well, but I don't have much experience with that zone.

Basically there really is no need to change quests or anything like that. Just duplicate some instances and work out a few game mechanics to allow for things to work right. Maybe there are hubs in town that you can click on to change instances or maybe a checkbox on your character.

Maybe its just not my cup of tea, but I'm confused as to why I'd want to do overland quests on a PVP server. I mean, its one thing to do it in an area designed for it like Imperial City where players are fairly close together and combat happens pretty often.

If we had overland PVP in base game zones, what would that really look like? A dozen gankers stealthing out in Mournhold waiting for someone to shop at a guild trader? Sneaking around quest areas to avoid conflict with other players?

for an expansion on PvP I would prefer to have ship battles

the alliance war could also be at sea with pirate battles too.

Just create areas like IC but using Daedric realms.

Hunting Grounds, Moonshadow, Oblivion Evergloam, Shimmering Isles etc.

Give each their own unique gimmick.

Hunting Grounds: WW hunt other players. Last survivor gets a shard. 100bshards grants you WW personality and WW mount skin

Oblivion: Two teams of four compete in a castle of puzzle and tricks. With three floors of duels. Winners get a buff for following floors, losers get a debuff. Team who reaches the top gets a fang. 100 fang grants you a Vampire personality and Vampire mist mount.

Shivering Isles: every 20 seconds your skill load out changes along with armor type.

Three teams of 4 must compete for wabbajack. Wabbajack has random effects that can hurt or help your team. If no one grabs wabbajack teams are penalized.

Winning grants Sheos favorite cheese. 100 cheeses grants insanity personality and daedric teleport mount

WOW used to have great battles in Tarren mill, Southshore, STV, oldschool bg queue locations, etc...did they start out as a gank kill? Yup, but evolved quickly to massive awesome battles when gchat & zchat call in reinforcements.

If the rewards are great and non-tradable , I believe pve players would like to buy and learn pvp LOL .

    i.e.
    Theme heavy armor set
(2 items) Adds 1206 Max Health
(3 items) Adds 1206 Max Health
(4 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(5 items) When you taunt an enemy, you give yourself and 11 group members special buffs for 15 seconds, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 200 . This effect can occur once every 8 seconds.

The PvP population is already small. Creating more PvP zones would spread that population even thinner for a time. Eventually though the PvP crowd would find their way back to Cyrodiil, Imperial City and battle grounds. The other zones would be boring as there are no choke points or objectives to gather players in one area creating the chance for an encounter. When I said eventually I'm thinking two weeks most. After that it would just be a mostly empty instance where some players go in to farm hoping to have no competition for the resources.

The reason they have PvE quests in Cyrodiil and PvP type gear in dungeons and trials is to get players to experience a variety of what the game has to offer. A player might find they like PvP when they initially only went there for the quests. Creating a PvE only Cyrodiil hurts the long term health of the game.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

On PS, not true at all.

Maybe if they add the "Land of Cheese" or an unexplored Dwemer Ruins with FFA excavation expeditions.

I would like a Bravil city PVP expansion, Maybe some kind of free for all mixed PvE and PVP in a small area.

Its like a PVP version of a Public Dungeon.
