Send gold from one character to another?

I have an old character I started playing ESO with some time ago and wanted to send the gold he has (around 1700 - I am sure this is tiny for some people) to my new guy I am leveling. I tried sending in game mail but it said I can't send it to myself. Is there a way you can transfer gold from one character to another?

    Put it into the bank with character one using the deposit currency tab.

    Withdraw from bank with character two using the withdraw currency tab.

    Its a shared bank account, so all characters have access to it, they don't have their own account.
