PVP Event - Is there an easy way to do this without dealing with the PVP?

Nine of the 10 dailies in Cheydenhal (middle of the map in EP territory) are really simple and many involve not leaving the town. You can pick up two quests at a time since there are two NPCs, so you could complete both, turn one in, then wait til the next day to turn the other in, then repeat.

One of the quests from the female NPC involves going to a delve that's a pain to get to, so if I get that one I just abandon it then talk to her again til I get a different one.

They still may involve being killed by someone farming PVE players

There's no way to avoid the risk of that in Cyrodiil unless you get really lucky and happen to have the correct scroll quest when it gets placed at a home keep/temple. That's the only way to get tickets from Cyrodiil with zero risk of PVP happening to you.

Everything else requires you to leave the safety of home base where, yeah, enemy players might find you and kill you.

Scouting missions tend to be low risk just because you can stealth most of the way there if you want. With town missions, I'll call it out in zone chat if I see an enemy so that questers are warned to be cautious when they come back into town.

It's not really a PvP event without PvP. That being said, I don't have much respect for PvPers that prey on PvE players just trying to quest. For what it's worth, I don't like fishing in Shadowfen.

It's always a possibility, but I've never had that problem in Cheyd during PvP events. It doesn't require going into buildings to turn in quests, so it's hard for people to camp places without being out in the open.

Gankers waiting you in Cropsford, Bruma and Vlastarus. Ww zergs in IC. Use pvp build, change your gear and find a group. Or you'll die very fast. This is Mayhem time!

This is better done before the event starts, so I have a character that did the 6 IC dailies on Tuesday and she's handing them in one per day.

I also got on some of my alts on Wednesday and did a few scouting missions (alone) and a few resource capture missions (with guildies).

Resource capture missions can be shared with a group, but scouting missions cannot.

This morning, I handed in one of the scouting missions and then went to do another one for tomorrow.

That way I have some extra quests up my sleeve if I'm busy.

Absolutely. If you just don't wanna PvP or you're more of a PvE player there is a simple way.

A popular trick many do is just grab a scouting mission, do it, turn in. That gives you two tickets. As for the IC ticket do the daily quest in the Elven Gardens district. All you have to do is interact with things. Burn that, grab that, make that explode, done and turn in. That's three tickets, took me...20min ish today and I didn't have to enter combat a single time. What takes the most amount of time is the scouting mission, often you'll get a mission so you have to ride across all of Cyrodiil. It varies.

..... Thats kind of the point of a PVP event you know...

But if you really want to avoid actually fighting other players, just run a scout mission. You may have to run a long way, but on a fully researched mount with rapids, you can be done in less than 10 minutes.

I look for campaigns that my Alliance is currently dominating, it doesn't matter what level (unless you are too high for the Under 50). Then I log in and check the Transitus shrine to see if either town is not only open, but my Alliance has firm control of that side. I go do the town quests. Sometimes I just do one for the tickets and leave.

If my Alliance does not meet the criteria, I just leave and try again later.

Actually, yes! Get in a PVP group, have someone share with you a PVE quest. They do the PVE quest and you get credit for what they do while you kill other players that get in your way! :)

While do enjoy PvPing a lot, I also sometimes just wanna get my tickets when I don't have time to actually PvP.

For both cyro and IC, try to do it outside of prime time, and select a server where your faction has the biggest population advantage, ideally opposite factions are at one bar.

For cyro, scout quests are the best. You can "teleport " back to base by dividing, suicidal teleportation is the best.

For imp city, I do the eleven gardens daily quest on my nightblades since it's by far the fastest when you have sneak gear. Not sure what's easiest for a non nb, but if you have invisibility pots that could help in that area at least.

Usually I can do both without any fights with opposite players.

You can also just enter the IC campaign unless they are all full. Then do your IC quest, then exit IC, go back to the main game, back into cyrodiil end up at home base and hand it in. Otherwise it's best to walk up to an enemy player and annoy them (event mudballs work in cyrodiil but not collection ones) until they kill you - that avoids armour damage you get from a non-pvp death.

The event is really annoying in some ways because normally anywhere in general overland you can just enter IC, use the crafting tables, bank etc, and then walk out back to where you were before- now you have to queue 8(

If a city is solidly controlled by your alliance, you're likely to be safe doing quests there.

Bruma has a quest where you never have to leave the building (close three portals). It's really rare to have an enemy player interfere with that.

The city deep in DC territory has one easy quest (kill 4 nearby atronachs).

The city deep in EP territory doesn't have anything quite that simple, but there still are easy quests that you're unlikely to get enemy player interference with.

Nope the towns are the hunting grounds for nbs but also some other pvp players see it as an opportunity to kill "noobs" Such is the state of pvp that there many who have fun killing easy players. Kinda sad but the reality.
    A is for Atronach.
    B is for Bungler's Bane.
    C is for Comberry.

Seems like you've already received plenty of good advice on things from the other posts so far. So allow me to offer some... questionable advice!

/wave at your opponents! Yes, really!

Go about your business as others have said (scouts, town quests, etc.). When you inevitably run into "enemy" players, try being friendly. No doubt, you will just get killed a fair amount of the time; BUT now and then you'll find some other PvE player like yourself (or me!) who is just trying to go about their business and not get into a pissing match with any real people. They see you emoting, and if they're of a similar mind they'll sheepishly inch over to you and throw out some emotes too (or just go on their own way and steer clear of confrontation). I find the amount of people who take me up on this sort of behavior goes way up during these events, too.

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Some of my favorite memories of Cyrodiil in this game are the enormous fights for keeps and the chaos that ensues when PvP really gets going (and I manage to not get kicked or killed constantly).

But probably my best memory is that time some random EP dude waltzed into a delve a friend and I were in for whatever reason. Killing bosses for achievements or whatever, iirc. They see us, freeze, and start slowly walking backwards (lol). We're just goofing around, having a good time, so we /wave and /dancenord (the hokey pokey-lookin one!) and just showing we're non-hostile, right? They come over, and start emoting and having fun too. Good stuff.

Well, guess what? Three more EP come in, and I'm sure my friend and I are about to get Dawnbreaker'd so hard we go back in time... but nope, the dance party gets bigger! : D

About a minute or two goes by, and some pair of DC players wanders down the path, and sees the shenanigans us AD and EP fools are up to. They start to engage us all, and the EP just turn and obliterate them. Like they were nothing. (Really glad they decided to dance with us!) And we all go back to dancing and whatnot.

Not long after, a few more DC come down the way, see their dead friends and see the dance party. They decide to start dancing too. Just ignore the dead DC, join the huddle, and start havin fun. Good times for everyone.

UNTIL one of the DC decides to try and rez his allies...

I swear to Azura, it was like the movies. Everything stopped so suddenly I think I might have actually hallucinated a record skipping sound effect in real life. EVERYONE stops dancing, turns to look at the pair rezzing, weapons drawn and everything. Sh**'s about to go down. It's a wild west small town out here. Tension so thick you have to blow it out of your nostrils and wipe it away from your eyes.

The DC all stow their weapons and start dancing & emoting! I seem to recall one of the guys who got annihilated does some kind of pleading emote in front of the EP folks before joining in on the dance party. I literally laughed out loud.

It was so funny and wholesome and surreal! I could hardly believe this was happening in an openly PvP environment where any one of those players probably could have shredded my friend and I like sausages in a wood chipper. lol

Of course, it didn't last long. It took you longer to read this than the actual event lasted, most likely. A few minutes of friendly fun left a really good impression on me though, and I bet those other players still think about it now and then too.

Sadly, it all abruptly ended when an EP Bombblade showed up and Visciously 'sploded all of us. Was pretty hilarious. But the boss we were all (presumably) there for, waiting to spawn for the last however long, of course spawns in while we're all dead, and only the EP get to get him. : P

The bomber didn't seem too interested in what was going on, but our EP frienemies were furiously bashing and light attacking at him as he casually mowed us down, haha.

    Good times.

Random enemy dancers, if you're out there reading this, and remember this awesome happenstance: I <3 you forever!

I know exactly how you feel about pvp. The whole concept of harassing, killing and griefing other players doesn't appeal to me. Some people crave that call of duty type of warplay while others like myself are more light hearted, kind, social housing and crafting nerds. The key is pick one of the low population servers that come out just for the event and go with a friend. Just hope you done run into griefers

Way to negative stereo type!!!!I'm going to unpack every insult in your very short post. It's not just directed at you but I am sick of the BS stereotypes perpetrated here.
    • 1. PvEers are generally advised not to go to Greyhost beause it is a 30 day campaign based on winning the map in the main and is alliance locked so the serious PVP guilds tend to play there on PCNA. Despite this, several regular PvPers yesterday took a bunch of non alliance skills, wrong gear wearing, no siege equipped PvEers recruited from LFG in ZONE CHAT out to get their resources capture quests done. This happened on and off for the several hours I was on. Grand Overlords leading PvE pugs around by the hand because these 'light hearted, kind, social housing and crafting nerds' just want the rewards from a PvP event without fighting players, and like you, they couldn't solo a resource, so even PvEing against NPC's, was out of the question. They really needed help. They got it. But PvPers aren't kind or helpful?
    • 2. Multiple PvPers wrote guides/did videos to help you all do the event without fighting other people but these people who did this out of community engagement are are all lumped together in your insults too. Apparently we are all unkind bullies for helping out strangers?
    • 3. We often take new and experienced players PvPING during midyear mayhem in several social guilds. Our group laugh, play Parkor when doing horse simulator on the way to resources, laugh at ourselves when we stuff up and die over and over, sing songs we make up about the enemy or fight, buy siege for new players and hand out PvP gear to guildies for free. But we couldn't possibly be characterised as 'light-hearted' because it wouldn't fit your assumptions.
    • 4. An area designed for player verus player where fighting occurs on a common rule-set is NOT 'harassment'. It is simply a competitive match or game...like football or w/e sport or game (chess) you prefer. It involves strategy, advance planning and team work if you choose. But apparently chess players who don't let you win just for turning up are nasty aggressive humorless people in your world?

I am an over 50 year old female player, I HAVE CADWELL'S GOLD, MASTER CRAFTER, HERO OF TAMRIEL, 3 FULLY DECORATED HOUSES. I've done or attempted all vet TRIALS, done all DUNGEONS, done alll the DLC regional quest exploration etc. completions except the last release, and I've NEVER PLAYED A WAR GAME IN MY LIFE. There are so many PvPers like me. At least 20% of my little PvP guild is the same.

But you wouldn't know that we PvPers actually play the rest of the game because you are ignorant of OUR part of the game and have decided a chunk of the player base are awful. I guess we regular PvPers won't be helping many PvEers (who think like your post) to a group to get your tickets for your Indrik because you wouldn't deign to speak to us evil bullies, let alone type LFG in zone and ask for help.

[*snip*] (long post, two above, no offense intended)

Well, hold on a second @aetherial_heavenn ... they're pretty obviously not talking about those cool PvPers, though.

Are there awesome folks in Cyrodiil who go out of their way to make other people's play time better? Absolutely! At not-insignificant cost to their own enjoyment and free time as well, I reckon!

BUT, are you denying there are people who just target and victimize weaker/inexperienced players in PvP? Maybe if you're good enough, or lucky enough, or whatever enough, this sort of thing literally never happens to you, but I remember when I was starting out, all new and ignorant of how much of anything worked and wearing paper-mache armor. Let me tell you, some people take great please in harassing you once they learn that you can't/don't know how to defend yourself.

They'll Pull and CC and Snare you for who knows how long, if you let them; not killing you, just toying with you ad nauseam because they know they can. They'll go invis, wait for you to get on your mount, then knock you off of it just to go invis and lurk around waiting for a repeat. They'll kill you easily, then proceed to bag you and send you hateful whispers without any provocation/communication at all.

These people are the minority (thank Sheogorath!), but they're out there. And, here's the important part, if you're new & inexperienced (or weak in PvP in general) you are more susceptible to these folks.

If you're a PvP regular, you're used to a certain amount of shenanigans from the less classy people in your ranks; we get numb to a lot of it. And we're not subjected to most of it, at least not directly. But if you're truly bad or unlucky or otherwise on the really low end of the scale? You're subject to things others simply don't experience or perhaps even know about.

Those are the people and experiences folks are talking about when trying to communicate their PvP woes. And as someone who was subject to a certain amount of that stuff in my beginnings, and is friends with someone that is truly terrible at games, I promise you that there are angles and severity levels of this that you simply aren't subjected to as a competent opponent.

Also, shoutout to the benevolent PUG leaders in /zone chat! Y'all are f'ing heroes, and I appreciate the heck out of you!

(If you're struggling with PvP, get in the chat and find a temporary group that works for you. You don't need to make any long-term commitments or sign any contracts, y'all; don't be so scared of joining a group of strangers for a few minutes and see if you have some fun. Cyrodiil is a lot better with friends! Even if those friends are strangers that couldn't collectively conquer an unguarded wagon of watermelons. Just try a few groups and goof around a bit. I promise, it's better than getting owned in solo/small groups.)

      A side observation...

I don't understand some of the negative or sarcastic comments about how it's "A PVP event, suck it up" (not a direct quote obviously).

I never said I had an issue with PVP events. I'm not here demanding we get rid of them or calling them stupid, or calling anyone else who does them ugly names. I recognize there are people who do PVP exclusively who don't have near the same level of content us PVErs do, I'm not here trying to cry foul and claim unfair entitlement when a PVP event comes around. I don't really think it's fair to make ugly comments as if I had been here demanding we get rid of PVP or something. If anything it just reinforces the negative opinions people have about PVPers seeing these sort of comments.

I simply said it's anxiety inducing and I needed help being able to complete them in the least-upsetting way. I get stressed in Undaunted Dungeons, I still do those as well because I recognize if I want something I have to go and do it. I recognize here I want this pet and skin, I have to do it, too. I don't think it hurt anyone by asking for help.

For Cyrodiil tickets, scouting missions can be a way to avoid PvP if you're willing to sneak slowly abd carefully across Cyrodiil to reach your assignment. Otherwise you can try doing a city quest, but you can't always avoid PvP that way

I used to do that when I first started but (playing on PC EU) I've found it's not really necessary.

At first I would always make sure to wear dull colours to camouflage my character and would go around the very edges of each area, staying as far away from roads as I could, sneaking any time I thought I might be exposed. I'd carefully watch gate houses to make sure no one was around before sneaking in and out the other side. Then I'd sneak all the way back after I'd finished.

After a while though I realised I wasn't really avoiding anyone because I never saw anyone. Away from the main roads or areas currently under attack it's rare to even see another player, and if you do there's a chance they're also trying to do a quest and will avoid you too.

Now I just ride as straight as I can to my destination. I still change my clothes, hair and mount but more for immersion than practicality and I stay off the roads but they're usually not going straight anyway (which is odd now I think about it, given the Imperials are based on Romans and they're famous for making their roads as straight as possible).

It has the same effect - you're away from the action and therefore unlikely to run into other players, but it's a lot faster.

I don't usually bother sneaking anymore, either, but it's because I'm not as afraid of being seen. Sometimes people chase me, and sometimes they catch me, but often they just keep heading to wherever it is they're going.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Short answer, no. IC is full of blueberries ganking PvErs trying to do quests. Its a *** show. Zos should make a PVE and a PVP option for each event.
