New cp system less worrysome than anticipated.

When I read the specifics of the new system, like many of you, I was worried of a brutal DPS loss that would cost me my hard earned place in vet trials/dungeons.

However, in the end, I indeed lost DPS (from 39k to 32k on the 3mil, without any breach. Problematic, but not game changing)

BUT :
  1. Some cp stars are bugged. Finesse is supposed to give me 10% crit chance, but actually gives 0. (that makes a difference). Some other must be, too. I don't see any gain from any of the 2 crit% stars.
  2. The iron atro is bugged. No one will really lose 60k dps. Even completely naked, I wouldn't loose that much. It's just a bug, your true DPS is still high.
  3. templates only have 810cp. If you have more, you'll loose less.
  4. on a non-damage related note : yes, you loose mitigation, but you gain (lots of) hp. Tradeof seems fair.

WIch mean that without bugs, I certainly stand closer to live than I think.

So, yeah. I DO hope zos will apply a formula on the players current cp, to make up for the hugely increased cap (like, cp = cp*1.5 or 2) or at least that the xp needed for each cp will be cut drastically, but it's actually not so bad of a system. I'm growing to like it.



What I mean to say is calm down everyone. Damage seems low because of many bugs. It's a PTS cycle, it'll be sorted out.
Even at 810cp, damage will still be fine. A little bit lower, probably .. but fine.

    I can't believe people are actually doing dps tests when 80% of the cp system seems to be bugged. They stated the following in the patch notes so it's no surprise to me:
    • Tooltips in the Champion Point system are still under adjustments and many will currently display information that is not entirely encompassing of their effect, maybe mislabeled, or will not update their values in real time. This will be fixed in a future PTS patch and is a priority.
    • Some Champion star tooltips are not reporting their total bonus. To verify stat gains from CP this week, please refer to your character sheet or advanced stats.
    • Some Champion Point stars may be difficult or impossible to interact with based on your screen resolution.
      • We are currently investigating ways to solve this issue, but if you run into a situation where this happens, you can try going to Settings -> Video -> Interface and setting Use Custom Scale to ON, then adjusting the slider until the stars you cannot interact with become usable.
    • The Champion Point star "Shield Master" is not properly applying to Crystallized Shield and Sun Shield, or their morphs.
      • Note that this star currently does not affect abilities that grant a Damage Shield as an auxiliary effect, such as Ferocious Leap or Shielded Assault, which is intentional as those abilities' primary functions are not to grant Damage Shields, therefore they are not considered "Damage Shield abilities".

    Fundamentally they can't nerf high end dps too much without making content like vSS HM portals unplayable.

    People are panicking over nothing. The META is going to change for sure, but if you're doing good dps now, you're going to be good dps when this hits live.

    I hope critical chance is bugged 😹. It would make sense why it was only 13 percent from 10 percent.

    Well, I'm sure it is. None of the stars seems to matter. I'm at 30.8 without stars. I'm still at 30.8 with them. And there are 2 that gives critical %, 1 passive, and 1 slottable (that I have slotted for testing)
    I should be at 41+.
