I've said this so many times and it's mind boggling that people still think it to be true that you need to be at resistance cap. You don't need to get to resistance cap to tank in this game. If you get to around 23k before buffs, you're sorted on resistances. Buff up with Major Resolve, have Minor Resolve from your healer using Combat Prayer, and you should be sitting on around 31k~32k. That's without taking into account of things like Master's one-hand and and shield, extra mitigation from Defensive Stance, block mitigation from Immovable, Maim, Minor Protection, CP resistances, etc. At the moment, as a Nord DK, I typically go way over resistance cap and tend to be sitting on around 34k spell resistance (and 32k physical because it's a DK) once full buffed. On my necro, I can get both spell and physical to 32k pretty handily. This reduction means I'll be sitting on 31k. It's negligible at best.If you do not get ease resist 32500, you will need make it by what ? Gear, mundus and etc.
Both are good, or can be good. You can tank almost anything in this game with around 35k health and close to resistance cap with buffs, if you know what you're doing. Nord still gets both health and resistance. It's not like ZOS are removing the health in favour of only having resistance. It's still better on that front than Imperial. For tank:
What is better 1000 hp or 1500 def ?
