The cap is currently 810 but you could always earn over that, just not spend it.

From the sound of it, you'll only be able to choose 12 lines as active at a time so will greatly reduce the need for high CP - the only advantage will really be to have the flexibility of other full lines so you can change the active ones on the fly without having to pay the 3k to reallocate them each time

I'll break down what I've gathered so far. They didn't get too much into detail, but you can figure it out based on what they've shown.

There is 3 forms of CP stars:

1. Yellow: Active all the time (5 stages, 10 points per stage, max 50, each stage gives 260 stamina)
2. Matches the colour of the tree, so Blue, Green or Red: Active when slotted (Can cost 50-100 points max, can only slot 12 total, 4 from each of the 3 trees)
3. Pink: Sub system (Pressing it shows more of stars for point 1 and 2, because it's a seperate constelation, they are capable of adding more stars as the game grows).

From the below image, you will see Yellow Stars (1), Blue Stars (2) and Pink Stars (3). From what I can count, there is this many of each for the Warfare tree (combat tree).

• 6 Yellow
• 20 Blue
• 2 Pink

In 1 of the subsystems shown on stream (shown below), we find:

• 4 Yellow
• 1 Blue

There are some stars that appear to cost up to 100 for the swappable, but lets say for a moment that every star costs 50 to max out. In theory, you would want to get all of the yellow stars you can and slot at least 4 blue stars. Lets assume the second subsystem has the same setup for 4 yellow and 1 blue.

That means you would want 14 yellow (700 points) and 4 blue (200 points). I don't think the other trees have subsystems yet, but I'm also not going to bother counting every node as this is just a quick assumption of what we would need to max out at least once.

So that means, 900x 3 for 2700cp required to get all yellow stars and fill in all of the 12 slots for swappable bonuses. Obviously you don't NEED 2700cp because I guarantee just like the current cp system, you won't find every yellow star useful.. For instance, you're not going to need the +max magicka star clone of stamina, if you're a stamina dps. This means you can cut a lot of that out and assume, if maximizing for your role, you'd only need about 1400-1700 points.

Don't forget, they're adjusting the experience curve greatly. So I imagine the current 810 cp is the same as 3200, meaning 810 after launch would be like leveling at 200 cp before the update (25% of the way to max).

SO when he said something along the lines of you will reach a certain point of vertical progression where you're able to get what you want, then the rest is just customization, I assume this is around half of the way to max level. In the future, when they increase cap, maybe they will do it every update again.. all it's going to do is allow you to have more points to throw around, but you're not really going to get stronger. You could just respec for 3k if you really needed the points.

@ArchMikem Looks like you missed a lot. They didn't just give us a roadmap for the CP rework in the stream today, they actually showed the whole thing! New limit is 3600. It's expandible so that instead of increasing the cap every update, they can add new things we can spend them on without affecting balance too much because you have an opportunity cost attached to them.

Basically you can now only have 12 CP effects slotted (4 for each), but you can still increase your stats outside of that.

@DarkWombat From how I understood it, content will still be the same as it is now. So it's more of a matter of how you invest your CP than how many you have. More will make you stronger, but you will be able to complete content just the same.

At least that's what they promised.

Also, don't get hung up on the 3600. That's somewhat of a new cap, intentionally set so high that only a handful of players may have reached it, yet. For basically everyone, the system is simply open-ended.

With the slottable CP restricted to 4 per constellation, you will get decent results with much lower CP. You don't need to spend 3600 CP - you wouldn't be able to slot them all anyway. After a certain point, the main benefit you get from way higher CP will be that you can re-slot abilities without re-distributing CP, and a few more passive abilities.

So it shouldn't change all that much, in theory - with 400 CP, you won't get the full potential out of the system, but you do get a some crucial bonuses nonetheless, just like it is now.

160CP is the minimum everyone should aim for. Past 400CP player skill matters significantly more than the few % points difference additional CP will bring to your stats.

If its just a 0.5% boost it does matter alot at end game.
