You'd cut off a good source of skilled players. A lot of decent people on console who've been raiding without addons to tell them not to stand in red tend to get tired of console and then go to pc, where they're getting a lot of the hardest achievements around 300-400 cp and joining teams with some of the best pc players immediately. Console trains you to git gud without addons so you can perform even better with them once you switch to pc.

Console is absolutely ESO hardmode, not only do you not have addons to tell you not to stand in red, you have to learn and know when to use your skills too, instead of just hitting the button when an addon tells you to. You need to learn mechanics and to observe enemies instead of having an addon give you a timer or tell you when a mechanic is going to happen.

Honestly, I look at some of the addons PC people have available - especially for end game stuff - and it just baffles me, like how has everyone not completed the hardest content in the game with so many addons telling you what to do and when you need to actually play the game?
