My thoughts regarding DK vs. Templar for heavy attack builds below:

Lightning heavy attack builds (Undaunted Infiltrator + Undaunted Unweaver, basically) are of course a bit of a niche thing that most people won’t use, but I think they’re legitimately strong, and DKs and Templars are the best for it since Solar Barrage and Molten Armaments both give very hefty heavy attack damage bonuses.

I personally prefer the Templar to the DK on heavy attack builds. YMMV, but the DK just feels a lot clunkier to me—even if it can technically output more peak damage. I can provide more detail for anyone that wants it, but basically Toppling Charge and Restoring Focus are amazing abilities for this sort of build—since Toppling Charge sets off balance and stuns at the same time, and Restoring Focus is a cheap stamina ability that procs Undaunted Unweaver and actually does a ton for you otherwise. In my experience, the lack of Toppling Charge makes it a lot harder for DKs to have a consistent burst combo and makes them easier for people to LOS while you’re attacking, and the lack of Restoring Focus makes DKs waste GCDs to proc Undaunted Unweaver and makes their stamina sustain and mobility worse. I also think having a purge is a big deal for a lightning heavy attack build, since your HoTs will be bad and so a purge really saves you from being eaten alive by DoTs.

I have a lot of time on both, and the Templar has felt strong each and every time I’ve taken it into PvP, whereas the DK version, while still good, is much more hit and miss.
